I don't think he could pull it off convincingly, just would not look right I feel. All the actors you mention have a very different body shape and proportions to Daniel. I think he may look like he was dressing up in Daddy's clothes. He looks better in different types of clothing, more casual and understated. For example all of the Bonds have at some point wore a three piece suit but that also would be wrong for Daniel (please correct me if I'm wrong and he has worn one)

Daniel Craig would look great in a uniform. The Lieutenant who commanded my platoon in Northern Norway looked a bit like Craig and had the same build, and he did NOT look like a boy in his father's clothes  ajb007/lol

He wore one at the end of Spectre as well (although it was too tight).

Craig could pull off he naval uniform if the setting was appropriate. If it was forced just for the sake of nostalgia, it wouldn’t work.

Totes agree about the nostalgia we have had a belly full of that. Maybe Boyle can find ways of doing it that's not cheesy. I liked the way earlier adventures were referenced in OHMSS. Perhaps PTS or titles is the place for it if it's done at all.

Perhaps it would be more fittings (pun intended) if Craig wore a field uniform or assault outfit instead of a formal uniform, perhaps during a raid?

He wore one at the end of Spectre as well (although it was too tight).

There were two in Spectre: the black herringbone suit for the funeral and following scenes in Italy, then the checked suit at the end.

Looking good in most styles of clothing is less a function of the person and more a function of the fit and cut. Daniel Craig has been wearing clothes so poorly tailored for a number of years now that it makes us think he won't look good in certain things. He used to wear clothes that flattered his body, and he looked quite good in them. I don't see why this couldn't happen again.

Danny Boyle is a human, as far as we know, so he cannot be in two places at once. He was in the UK the day Craig was spotted filming in Spain. Second unit is a possibility, but highly unlikely to be working with Daniel Craig during pre-production. Filming an advert by far makes the most sense here.

Films are storyboarded out. A second unit director could follow a storyboard and with today's technology they send back digital video of what was shot and Boyle can review it in the UK. You could have had a shooting plan that, due to delays on Boyle's UK comedy film, meant there was a clash and Boyle couldn't be there.

Early filming has taken place on DC Bond films before, but was that late May shoot in Spain actually early filming? And at that time was Boyle the director?
https://www.mi6-hq.com/news/daniel-crai … day-180529

I think the real question to be asked is, could you make a Bond film in secret?

If I was DC, I would want to do a Blofeld trilogy.

The leaked Spectre script had, as the last line, "We'll have all the time in the world'. They either didn't film that or cut it from the final cut. Either way, for a film that DC was CO-PRODUCER on, they clearly were thinking of OHMSS and a sequel in that vein for Spectre.

Neal Callow told attendees at the opening of the 007 ELEMENTS exhibit, including Club James Bond France, that DC's wife Rachel Weisz would have the perfect profile for Bond25's Bond girl. Such a profile would fit an OHMSS story.
http://jamesbond007.net/2018/olivier-sc … e-bond-25/

In the May Spain filming DC was seen wearing a wedding ring and a non-Omega watch. A wedding present from Bond's wife?

We know two 'Bond25' scripts exist, one by Purvis & Wade and one by Boyle's pal John Hodge.

But, were they both for Bond25? Was one for Bond 25 and the other for Bond26?

We know Purvis & Wade were working on their script from March 2017, three or four months before DC signs on. Enough time to produce a script.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar … y-007.html

When DC announced on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in August 2017 that he was doing another Bond, he was asked by Colbert, "will you return as James Bond," and DC said, "Yes". After some chit chat, Colbert asks, "is this the last Bond, can you tell me if you're going to do the one after that?" DC replies, "No, I think this is it, this is it, yeah," while not making eye contact. He said, I THINK. Why not say, "no, this is definitley the last one." If he is doing two films then "it," Bond25 wouldn't be his last.
Watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert interview here https://youtu.be/iNr9xdc6cVA

DC also said during that interview that he'd known he was continuing, "for a couple of months," so he was signed up in the second quarter of 2017. The 25 May 2018 EON Bond25 announcement about Universal did not say that the next Bond film was DC's last.
http://www.007.com/bond-25-announcement/

BTW that 25 May Bond25, Universal announcement was four days before we see DC in Spain filming...

We know that Warner Brothers knew they hadn't got the distribution rights as far back as November 2017 because they annouced then that they had moved Wonder Woman 2 to the same weekend as Bond25.
http://collider.com/wonder-woman-2-rele … star-wars/

How long before November 2017 did Universal know they were distributing Bond25? DC had been onboard since Q2, seven months before the Warner Bros. WW2 move, and the Bond25 script work started nine months before the WB Wonder Woman announcement.

The two films do not have to be filmed sequentially, Bond25 scenes could be filmed at the same time as Bond26 scenes. For example, anything involving M in Whitehall.

The 5-6 months of filming that starts this December could be all the Bond25/26 scenes/shots that require DC to be in the frame. It solves DC's opposition to doing films back-to-back.

This would also answer the question, why have we had no confirmation that Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw are returning? Because they have already shot their scenes for both films, but can't say.

In April 2017, Jeffrey Wright hinted on Twitter he was in Bond25.
https://twitter.com/jfreewright/status/ … 9452862465
https://screenrant.com/bond-25-felix-le … ht-return/
And then again this year, in June, he commented mysteriously on his possible return.
https://twitter.com/Daily_Express/statu … 6046396416

A much earlier filming schedule was also hinted at when Bond production designer Denis Gassner said in October 2017, "I’m about to do my fourth James Bond film," speaking in the present tense, not the future.
www.thejamesbonddossier.com/news/dennis-gassner-confirms-bond-25-return.htm
Was Gassner on-board a Sam Mendes directed Bond25, but not Boyle's Bond26?

And David Arnold hinted at his return in July 2017.
https://twitter.com/DavidGArnold/status … 6132236288

We also had an indication that Blofled was in Bond25 when Christoph Walz was asked if he was returning and he said no and referred to a "tradition", which must be that Blofeld is played by a different actor in each film, not that each film must have a different villain to the previous film.
https://movieweb.com/james-bond-25-chri … g-blofeld/

And then in June, we find out that Mark Strong is apparently in Bond25.
https://screenrant.com/james-bond-25-mark-strong/

But, his profile does not match the Bond25 villain casting call that was leaked and published by MI6.co.uk in July.
https://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/article … sting-call

So, does the 'Bond25' villain casting call also solve this mysterious reaction from Benedict Cumberbatch when asked about Bond?
Watch this at 3min 7seconds https://youtu.be/yi0OARkg0L4

Someone else who had difficulty responding to questions about Bond25 was Lea Seydoux. She could not keep a straight face when asked if she would be in Bond25 when doing the publicity for Spectre, indicating she would be in Bond25.
Watch this at 4min 50 seconds https://youtu.be/l3KAPj5pWbc
Watch this at 3min 10 seconds https://youtu.be/5CmenJ8acg8

So, how do you keep it all a secret?

Film virtually everything you can at Pinewood. Even some 'outdoor' scenes can be filmed indoors, for example the Casino Royale courtyard when Bond confronts Vesper and her Quantum colleagues.
http://www.filmscapes.co.uk/films/casino-royale/

Then for the public filming, when people will see DC in London and other international locations, leave that to the official filming period.

The schedule for the two films would be;

2017
March P&W Bond25 script is written
April Jeffrey Wright signs on
May/June DC signs on
July David Arnold signs on
August DC announces he's signed on
Q3 Universal agree Bond25/26 distribution
October 2017 Dennis Gassner says he is, "about to do my fourth James Bond film".
December production starts on Bond25/26 scenes that don't need DC.

2018
Q1 Bond25 script is alledgely written. Amazingly it is immediately approved of by everyone - when was the last time that happened to a script?
May DC does some filming for Bond25.
December production officially starts on Bond25 but it is actually DC's scenes for both 25 and 26, with him playing opposite a Mark Strong Blofeld for Bond25 and a Russian villain for Bond26.

And from Q3 2018 to September 2019, post-production is carried out on both films.

Asp9mm, who has written some prescient posts and seems to have inside knowledge, has said;

9 August 2017 "Craig is returning for sure.  If he shoots the two films he's signed up for back to back from this September"
https://www.ajb007.co.uk/post/889506/#p889506

9 Nov 2017 "How many are going to be disappointed when/if Mendes is announced."
https://www.ajb007.co.uk/post/902028/#p902028

22 March 2018 "The director has been in place for a long time now. People panicking about a rushed schedule shouldn’t worry."
https://www.ajb007.co.uk/post/915976/#p915976

So, when we talk about the Bond25 filming starting in December are we actually talking about Bond25 and Bond26 with November 2019 and November 2020 release dates?

IMHO DC looks better in Bonds casual clothes as suits seem to make him look rather stumpy!

That's only because he hasn't been wearing the right suits. He looks perfect in the QOS suits. The rest aren't right for him.

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

He looks great when the suits fit him, especially in QOS.  Unfortunately, the suits in SF and SP don't fit him right and he looks pretty terrible.

I'm glad youre being so optimistic Someone. If they really did film two back-to-back movies at the same time but released them each one year apart, I would take back (some of) my complaints about the four year wait.
But never in their entire history have they been that forward looking, so I am not so optimistic.

Someone's theory is charmingly optimistic. May it be so! The one thing that keeps me from rejecting it out of hand is that there has been a certain amount of weirdness to the lead up of Bond 25 that I find difficult to explain. Lots of mixed messages, non-denial denials, and details like that Mark Strong's Instagram post that don't fit into anything we've yet heard about the film. Most of us are interpreting the current smokescreen as a reaction to Eon having been burned by the Sony leak. That's the likely reason. And yet we're living in an age where back to-back movies are becoming more common if not yet commonplace. If the Avengers can pull it off, why not Bond?

2,149

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

I'd be all for back to back Bonds but I doubt very much that will happen. It appears that EON and the other powers that be are all in on Hodge's script for Bond 25 and that's the film Boyle will make. It wouldn't surprise me that in the future EON might dust off P&W's Bond 25 script and use parts of it for another Bond film.
