I'm not thrilled with it. :#

It could very well be 'By Royal Command.' If you think of the Olympics segment, the Queen was in that, and she appears in the 'By Royal Command' book as well.

Can anyone think of any other plausable reason for Corbould's "Think the Olympics" comment other than royalty being somehow involved?
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
I'm guessing some "Big" world event ?

    Good suggestion.
UN summit, perhaps? Or a G7 or NATO summit?
A new Olympic games, or Nobel prize cermony?

I think the abandoned Bond24 title, Nothing is Forever, is a good title as its DC's last film.

The most boring way to explain Corbould's comment is of cource: "Think about the James Bond Olympics scene, remember how well Boyle and Craig worked together?"
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
"Winter Olympics " perhaps they could work in the "Extreme/Parkour Skiing " sequence they had worked out for
    Spectre ? ;) ........ I would enjoy a good extreme skiing sequence :D

I'm reading John Pearson's James Bond's authorized biography, and I saw an expression I liked:

Instead of The Eye That Never Sleeps, a Fleming chapter, The Eye That Doesn't Blink works better. But maybe a bit too long?
Don't confuse me with the other DutchBondFan, but be sure to follow his YouTube account. You can read my articles on James Bond Nederland: www.jamesbond.nl/author/gosse/

"The Eye that never sleeps" was the slogan of the Pinkerton Detective Agency. That's not a problem, but many will think of The lord of the rings and Sauron.

    The poet of beguilement.

A positive side of this title is that millions of people will learn the word "beguilement". We all know helpful EON was in making the words "Quantum" and "Solace" known to a global audience, now it's time to do it again. :D

It looks like parts of Bond25 will take place in the Arctic, so I like these two titles:

    Frostburn

    Burnt by frost

Fleming liked titles that were a play on words, sometimes words that don't really fit together (live and let die) or sounds odd (Moonraker). 'Frost' is of course asociated with cold while 'burn' is normally linked with heat. It sounds very Flemingesque to me.

    Well, you'd be right.

From Thunderball - towards the end of Chapter 21.

"Largo said, 'My dear, I have had great enjoyment out of your body, much pleasure. In return, unless you tell me who gave you that machine to bring on board, I shall be forced to cause you great pain. It will be caused with these two simple instruments,' he held up the cigar and blew on the tip until it glowed brightly, 'this for heat, and these ice cubes for cold."

I think it's time that they use another actual Fleming title and The Property of a Lady is due. It would also probably be easy to build a plot point, etc to reflect that title.

    These days .......

Property of a lady ( transgender or anyone identifying as a lady ) :D

    Absolutely

    Property of a Transgender :))

If the Arctic and/or a cold climate is central in the plot, this title might work:

    Blood on the Snow

Here are a few fan art posters with potential titles. Some are better than others, I think. I hope tehy haven't been posted earlier …

I like the tagline for this one

I liket the idea for the Shamelady posters, they reference the CR title sequence. The title font is horrible, though.

Nice posters, but all the DC posters have seen him large in the frame, usually holding a weapon, and the name of the film. I can't see that format changing.

I always liked The Property Of A Lady as a title. A plot point in almost any story could be adapted to fit that title. If Madeline is killed, it could be something she left behind; it could be something related to the departed M that Dame Judy played or even something from Lucia Sciarra. Very flexible IMO and of course, taken directly from Fleming. I also like The Garden of Death or the Death Collector as well.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,701MI6 Agent
The "something M left behind" was done in SPECTRE, but I like that title too. The Garden of Death, The Death Collector, Risico, A Whisper of Hate ….. there are still very good Fleming titles left. :007)

I don’t think the word lady will ever appear in a bond title, too dull for Bond.

I have to admit I stole this one from The Other Place:

Going back to the idea of chapter titles, many of which would make excellent film titles, I like The Beautiful Lure. If you think of his job luring him back in after he leaves (assuming they continue where SP left off), and homegirl trying to keep him away from that life, it could make for an interesting premise.
