I've been watching SSGB and I think Sam Riley would be perfect..plus he's not too old...

Look at this trailer for the Movie "Tolkien" where Nicholas Hoult (29) plays the famous author as a young man. Earlier I felt hould looked too pale and boyish, but here he wears a suit and has a classic haircut. I think he could be a good James Bond.

I agree that Nicholas Hoult looks mature enough there.

Haven't really thought much about Hoult as a Bond candidate, but I think by the time Bond 26 rolls around in about 5 years??? :)) he'll probably look even more suitable.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,702MI6 Agent
When Bond26 is released Hoult will be about 33 years old, a good age for a starting Bond actor. He has also been in some very good movies (The Favourite, Mad Max: Fury Road etc,) and gotten good reviews. It also helps that he's 6' 2 1/2'' tall (189 cm).

I think I like Ed Skrein even better than Nicolas Hoult. Skrein is English, 36 years old and 6' 1'' (185 cm) and has a good career going. We've seen him in Deadpool, The Transporter Refueled, GoT and Alita: Battle Angel.
Skrein looks youthful for his age, but he looks like an adult who's spent time outdoors. Not all candidates do.

I saw Eton John biopic Rocketman last night and I have to say that Richard Madden has grown on me as a possible Bond.

He hadn't struck me as a credible candidate before, but watching his performance in Rocketman as the nasty piece of work John Reid, I think he could be a good Bond.

5'8" Rules him out for me I'm afraid.

As much as I like DC in the role, I would like to see a return to a taller, more suave Bond. (Call me old-fashioned.. :# ).

Ah, yes, I agree Bond needs to be at least 6ft.

Taron Egerton must be very short as Madden looked taller than him.

How about DC back for B26! I like the idea of him coming back for one more and getting close to competing against Conerey's number of films!

Enough already. I really hope that 25 is a doozy and fitting end for DC but it's time to move on. Besides the chance of them getting 26 out in the next five years seems remote to say the least...hell they are struggling enough with 25.

I wouldn't be against it, for purely selfish reasons - I love the current Bond being older than me :)) I also had no objections with Roger in his later films and he was older than DC.

If he did come back for one more (which I highly doubt) I would like it to be no strings attached typical Bond film with no emotional ties or baggage. Released in 2022.

A less heavy, good old RM style Bond film wouldn't interest DC though as I think he feels he needs to be challenged and bring something deep and gritty to (the majority) of his films, which is no a bad thing, and I do love his Bond and films for it.

I think a lot of people who really came into Bond fandom in the DC era will have a tough time letting go. For me, I think the change will be refreshing, just like it was when DC took over for Pierce. I think 10 years / 4 films should probably be the maximum. Every Bond actor who inhabited the role for more than two films petered out by the end. If Craig had quit after Spectre that would certainly be the case for him, but perhaps Bond 25 can buck the trend!

DC has the longest run, from 2006-2020, 2 years longer than Roger Moore 1973-1985. I was 14 when Casino came out and will be 27 at Bond 25. That is half my life. I grew up with him so he became my favorite bond and right at the last one he became stale. Can he become the first Bond since Dalton to begin and end on a high note?

I think some of you might be disappointed in the coming months.

Would not the 00 section have a retirement age?

I would like to see Tom Hardy as the new 007. I don't know how old he is? Perhaps he too would be too old for the next film?
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,702MI6 Agent
Hardy was born in 1977, so he's 41 years old. I'd like to see someone younger, taller and less famous.

    Looks the part and id be happy. Looks like he holds himself well and think he would certainly fit the mold of what the replacement needs to be. Strong suggestion -{

I only know him from The Transporter 4, in which he played

    Watch him in Deadpool :D

I think he's one of my top three favourite Bond candidates now, together with Aidan Turner and Sam Heaughan.

Ed Skrein has been mentioned several times before - most notably by yourself...I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he’s a Liverpool fan so he works for me :D

At 49, he is too old now, but I think Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister from "Game of Thrones")has the looks, swagger and charm that could have made him an excellent choice.
