I was very tempted at some point to buy a levi's replica.
But honestly, the leather of the Menlo jacket is very special in terms of color and softness.

I would save and buy a nice used one.

    Good luck!

Agreed. Patience is a virtue, they do still turn up from time to time and the hunt is thrilling - when you feel that authentic Menlo slip on the payoff is well worth it.

I received a great Menlo alternative/replica as a gift and I love it. The leather is incredibly soft, yet durable and the cut of the jacket fits me perfect.

I've been looking for a thread like this; I've started to become interested in the replica as I like the style of the jacket (sort of like a more fitted Indy jacket) but I started to think that the Levi's distressing might look a little fake, and I'm not sure I'd ever be comfortable knowing I have a £700 jacket which I can't put down anywhere! :)

But finding good pics of the Wested is damned hard; I must admit it looks pretty good here though:

Apparently that's in the Shrunken Lambskin they do; and the texture looks lovely. Does anyone have any more photos of their jacket?

Does anyone have any more pics of Wested they've owned, by any chance? Thanks in advance.

I owned the Wested Menlo before I got the real deal. Have to say quality of their leather goods is great - fully recommend them.

    Cheers :007)

Lovely; thank you for the photo- looks very good. Which leather did you go for?

I must say it's not so much the style of the original but the fit that makes it great. The wested fits nothing like the original, and thus I don't think it's a satisfactory replica.

Replica's quality wont be promising. I prefer buying original.

I tend to see people saying they're surprised by the fit of the Menlo and don't like it..?

I'm quite liking the pre-distressed lambskin too; what do you think?

They don't like the fit of the menlo because it's too small? It's meant to be snug, as seen on Craig in the film. If they don't like the fit then perhaps a replica would be better suited to them.

The real Menlo is not for everyone - you need to be slim and have long-ish arms. I had a replica, bought on eBay, but was never happy with it. I eventually bought a real Menlo last year and it’s now my all-time favourite jacket. Nothing prepares you for its look and feel (not to mention smell!).

Having said that, I haven’t seen the Wested version- my replica came from pakistan and looked nothing like the photo. The real issue with eBay is that some sellers don’t use photos of what they’re actually selling - just stock images. Wested however don’t do that.

If you read any thread about it on here you’ll see someone surprised at the length of the arms, possibly the shortness of the back too. 30s bike cuts are a little strange.

I took the plunge and got a Wested in pre-distressed lamb, and it's great! Fits like a dream and the leather is incredibly soft. The photos make it look shinier and more orangey than it is, but hopefully you get the idea. I recommend it very highly.
It's not a double for the Skyfall jacket, but I don't really care about that; I just like the style.

I received my Wested Skyfall jacket a few weeks ago, sleeves had to be adjusted by a local tailor but that was no big deal. I ordered the distressed lambskin and asked for significant distressing, I love this jacket, I've worn it just about every day since it arrived. Wested is awesome, this i my second jacket from them and I have had two very good experiences.

Any pics of the jacket/you wearing it?

Any idea if wested can make adjustments to the pattern - like, for example, slimmer sleeves?
