I had no idea there was a Frankenstein restaurant in Edinburgh! I’m also a massive fan of the Universal monsters series (though Frankenstein ties with the Wolf Man imho) so will have to visit.

That statue of Maria in Metropolis also looks awesome. What’s the third photo from, Barbel?

It's a robot from Japan, designed to look more human-like than the others. It's a bit uncanny valley.

Street food is very popular here and one of the best locations is at IT Park in Cebu City which operates on weekends. It gets crowded but it’s great food and great fun. The Pyramid restaurant is also here, food is good but service is chaotic with courses arriving at different times but if you all share there is no problem. There is also a market selling all sorts of hand made crafts.

Hey Higgins, mozzies no problem here but out in the countryside they can be - the few we get here don’t have the dengue fever, fortunately never been bitten here but have been in Florida!

Was your recent Hong Kong trip good? Did you ever try Spring Deer restaurant?

I would like to see Bond in more Asian countries, South Est Asia hasn't been given enough attention. That goes for Bond and movies in general.

    Hey CHB,

HK is great always, but the weather has been very rainy during our last visit.
One afternoon, we had red weather warning and at 14:00, it turned totally dark (cars where having their lights on and it looked like pitch dark night. The following rain and thunderstorm was quite impressive.

We have been to Spring Deer many times. I liked the food, but their a/c is brutal! Cannot go to there just in a T-Shirt or Poloshirt - always needed a pullover. But recently we had better Peking Duck in a private countryclub as my wife doesn't like Spring Deer because the duck is so oily.
In the old day, there was a well-known Peking Duck restaurant up Nathan road in Yau Ma Tei (on the left side) 1st level which had phantastic Peking Duck, but that has been closed some years ago. Don't remember the name, but they where quite popular (and a bit dirty :D ).

We are always visiting Mak Man Kee Noodle in Yau Ma Tei (Parkes Street) for Wantan, do you know that?

We have been to Phuket again this time (of course took a Big Boat tour to Koh Khao Phing Kan) and I was heavily attacked my mozzies when eating outside.

P.S. We used Finnair for this time, a phantastic and comfortable new Airbus 350 they use and Helsinki is a neat little airport.

And our favorite spot is still the Lobby Lounge at the Intercontinental Harbor view hotel.

No, don’t know Mak Man Kee Noodle will have to try it. I’m meeting my brother in HK in about 6 weeks when he’s there on business so will do my best to visit as I will be there for 3 days.

Went to Ruth’s Chris on HKI last time I was there which was really good if you like steaks.

I’m not keen on duck so don’t know if it’s oily or not but I really do like the cooking at Spring Deer.

Nice pic of Phuket will have to get there one day.

Watching QOS on itv2, the Hotel fight is amazing, in that
ITV have so heavily cut it, it's over in 10 seconds :))

    Probably due to its fairly violent nature. I find that scene with the "bleed out" hard to watch. The heavy editing is another reason why I never watch Bond films on ITV any more too! -{

There was a time when ITV had more respect for tbe Bond series. Now they edit fight scenes so that you barely see them and they cut to an ad break during major plot points.

Real Elvis autograph , one of the most amazing from my collection :o

-the "l" is usually bigger than the "E" , when he wrote his name it looks like "Elms" or "Eliss"
-he rarely dotted the "i" , actually it looks more like a slash than a dot
    -the "P" is dominant
-he usually sgd his name "ElvisPresley" , in one sentence (except on contracts it seems)

It was some game. I thought they would win the game but doubted they would have kept a clean sheet. Jurgen emotional and swearing at the end. Never seen him so quiet :))

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool were made for each other. I love Klopp.

It goes to show what happens when you allow the manager to actually build a team instead of firing after losing two games.

Pity those supporters couldn't have shown a bit of class and decorum in Barcelona just because they lost. One can only hope Spurs can do the right thing and win!

    A) that incident happened before the match even took place - there was zero trouble post match & the atmosphere / friendship between the 2 clubs was there to see on tuesday night at the final whistle.
B] it was a couple of idiots who let the fanbase down ... but let's just tar the entire club with the same brush 8-)
    C) the perpetrators have been rghtly vilified by the club & other fans across all sorts of social media & other platforms, but it clearly doesn't fit in certain agendas to mention this. Fans actually identified & named the idiot who did it.

After 2 brilliant semi finals, let's just hope that the final is a cracker with attacking football played ... and with a Liverpool win {[]

Where you in Barcelona at the time?

Are you on about the same Spurs fans that threw bananas on the pitch towards Arsenal’s black players this season? Yea...proper ‘class’ & ‘decorum’ that 8-)

On a similar subject......... A young chap has recently started working with me. He's
of Pakistani Muslim and Indian Christian background and about 21. One day we had a
deep discussion about the world and our lives, and I was shocked at the amout of Bullying,
and racism he had had to put up with. The world is full of some very nasty people.

Here are 17 suggestions from architects for the roof and central tower of Notre Dame. I would like to see a conservative "re-make".
The church has burned or been rebuildt several times in the past, so after some doubt favour changing it a litttle to reflect the fact that it's a rebuild. A glass roof with a greenhouse under or made of stained glass would be nice, but I would like the center tower to look a lot like the one that was destroyed during the fire. That way the outline of the church won't change. What do you think?

    https://www.boredpanda.com/notre-dame-cathedral-new-spire-designs/?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic

The last suggestion has to be seen to be believed …..

I'm a fan of modern architecture and would hope they'd go
With a new design but still keeping as much of the old as
    Possible.

I think the tower that was destroyed should once again represent the crown of thorns, for the roof I think stained glass sounds good, I wonder if they could do stained glass solar panels? Never the less I would like some eco features added that are imperceptible and don't ruin the history and architecture of Notre damme
It was either that.....or the priesthood
