This is pure speculation by me, but maybe Madeleine dies in the PTS and they try to do a OHMSS type thing. As far as I know Lea Seydoux wasn't filming in Jamaica. So maybe the PTS is about her death somewhere else, almost immediately after the end of SPECTRE. Then opening credits. And a "5 years later" Bond in Jamaica.

Just because Seydoux was part of the big press event doesn't mean she'll have a big role. Monica Bellucci was in all the SP photos and she was on screen for what? 7 minutes total?

I concur, I have read/heard and I think its on MI5 somewhere that the Italian hill location is a) PTS and b) Car chase, so to my mind this is Bond and Madaline 'honeymooning' and the whole OHMSS death scene occurs, will no doubt feature the "we have all the time in the world' trope. Jamaica is later, someone (again on MI5) has even suggest that Bond is the head of Station J. and this is where it all starts some time after Madelines death.

I think that you can still explore Madeline post death either through flashback or general narrative when Bond has to make decisions, which will then fufil Cary's comments about a. being interested in Bonds psyche and backstory, and b. Exploring Madelines character further.

It's occurred to me that the frozen lake flashback/dream could actually be for Rami Malek's villain, as we know his stuntman was there, and not actually for Madeleine, as some have believed.

Killing off Madeleine in the Italian PTS would be the easier way to hit the reset button, and I guess Lea Seydoux's comments about her story being emotional could be a death.

I could imagine the film starting like this:

PTS: Bond and Madeleine in Italy, her possible death, leading to a car chase
    Then title sequence
Then Bond resigned and mourning living a minimalist life in Jamaica
Then Felix comes and the plot kicks off...

Im hoping that they have already split up, he is on his own in Jamaica etc and she reappears later in the film somehow rather then the obvious bumping her off plot

I really hope they don’t go with something like that—far too similar to the first half hour or so of Skyfall.

I hope so too but from the scenes we know of there aren‘t many other possibilities. Plus now there are rumors of Bond and Paloma hitting it off, so I wonder where Madeleine (the big one) would be at that point.

Really curious on how that all will turn out. Maybe we should start a „B25: possible plots“ thread or sth...

Yes me too, and I suspect that’s how it is.

It's unlikely that Bond is the head of station J at the start of the film since he's not in active service.

Your probably correct, it was just a comment on the James Bond and Friends podcast. Although some might say that ‘active service’ is a strange definition. Babs and MJW like to be cryptic, so I guess we won’t know until the first screening ;)

Where did you hear that Paloma was created by Waller-Bridge?

I guess active service can mean he's resigned or he's on leave. Perhaps there are other possibilities too.

I sincerely hope they don't go down the OHMSS road. Imho, it would be a lazy approach and we've already seen Craig's Bond deal with the death of someone he loves twice now. There's nothing original in it.

But considering a) CR and Skyfall both featured tragedy and were both hugely successful, b) the limited amount we know about B25 so far, and c) P&W, Eon and Craig seem to like keeping this iteration of Bond on his emotional toes, it almost seems inevitable Madeleine will be killed.

I really like the idea of Bond and Swann being separated. And there's lots of ways to explore their break-up: SPECTRE is still after Bond putting Madeleine at risk so they need to separate (the MI series approach); Bond can't handle the quiet life (shades of what we saw in the Skyfall Enjoying Death scenes); Madeleine just disappears but it turns out she's always been an agent for SPECTRE. Whatever route they choose, it would be a dynamic I don't think we've seen before. Has Bond ever had to deal with an ex?

I agree with what you Write. OHMSS has been done very well already and CraigBond already lost the love of his life.
The only ex Bond has run into is Paris Carver in TND, at least as far as I can remember

Lea Seydoux confirms she is shooting a film and has not yet started working on Bond25.

I guess if she is seen in Italy, we'll know Madeleine dies in the PTS.

On the topic of that night time explosion, from the daytime filming it looked like they are practising for the night time shoot and the explosion appeared to be the trawler we've seen in other pics along with the Cuban mural.

Maybe we'll get a story about bond dealing with survivor guilt.

That could be a good approach, as, bar, Bond's vengeful mindset in quantum we haven't seen a Bond coping with grief IMHO.

When Fukunaga says he wants to know more about Madeleine, it could be that to find the scientist and uncover whatever mystery is about that, Bond has to learn about his dead wife's past

As they seemed to want to reinvent Skyfall in Spectre, and maybe again for Bond25, I guess Madeleine is sort of M in this as something from her past is key to understanding what is going on in the film.

I would imagine some 'tender loving care' from Ana de Armes will also go someway to helping Bond recover from his grief.

This might also explain the MI6-hq.co.uk claim about WTF moments with Vesper references. How often has Bond reflected on the women he has known and who have died?

Stunt driver apparently hired for Norwegian car chase possibly being filmed in June.

I don’t expect her to be an outright villain, but I do expect her role and motives to be mysterious for much of the film. I think the people assuming she and Bond are together at the start of the film are dead wrong.

Petter Solberg said in an interview he "got a Call, but nothing more", but he's unwilling to comment any further.
I'm not surprised, after all the Atlantic Sea Road is a road, but I think a rally driver's skills are better used driving Trollstigen. Petter Solberg won the rally world championship in 2003 and 2014. he's considered one of our best drivers and one our worst English speakers.
Have a look at his collection of cars and marvel at his spectcular accent :

Is DC's beard purely because he allegedly isn't filming due to injury (what running do you need to do in interior filming at Pinewood?) or are we going to see a bearded Bond again?

Petter Solberg could certainly double for DC.
