Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Primark (US) has a navy blue pair of swim trunks with the zipper side pockets and front draw string for $9. Saw them in the Boston store today but they’re not on the website. I will try to grab pics tomorrow as I’m working near there for the next few weeks. I already have a budget bond 25 pair but heck, might grab these too. Stay tuned!

drum007 and Thomo: Are those Primark shorts a lighter blue? Or is it just the lighting in the photo? Great details!

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

It looked a bit darker in the shop than in the picture - they seemed ok especially for £7

I can confirm that they are definitely a dark navy blue. The drawstring could also be easily switched out for a navy one.

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Another great post. I was wondering if any alternatives have surfaced for the Bond 25 Vuarnets, or any tips on what to look for to help the search? Is there a name for that particular type of glasses?  ajb007/rolleyes

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

A bit of a curveball on the Wayfarers, how about the Magnoli Elwood glasses as alternatives to the Cool Rays? I have these and think they're very nice for the cost and are just a little different to the Ray Bans that ALL of my friends wear.

A lense change perhaps would help to match it?

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Ornothologist: I honestly haven't started looking for Vuarnet alternatives. But it's a pretty common shape. Usually on the sunglass websites, it would be considered a "square" frame shape.

Hold Command: Elwoods could definitely work. I actually thought about adding them, but I thought the Wayfarer 2 came closer. Just personal opinion.

Now that it's looking like the C&J Highburys are coming back for Bond 25, I've updated the post on alternatives for the shoes:

https://www.iconicalternatives.com/2016 … -highbury/

Not a ton of options, but I wanted to stick with alternatives that come really close in style.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thank you for the post and your constant updates!

May I add a 5th based on Ryan Reynolds? White henley + Safari Jacket + Talamone Pants?

It's more of a modification\combination of something from all 4 of your designs.

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

That is a great look armenianmovieman. And you could use the CR white Jack Purcells instead of the Chucks. Reynold's stylist has a good Instagram account. Fun to follow it for inspiration!

New post! Here's the 2nd part of the Daniel Craig Omegas alternatives:

LOTS of Aqua Terra options, if that's your watch of choice!

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Morning all!

I used the photo that was on Bond Lifestyle and an article on Luxuo and looked for some alternatives for the Bond 25 Omega

https://www.iconicalternatives.com/2019 … ega-watch/

Interested to hear what you guys think!

Just to make sure I'm giving proper credit, here's the article JBL

And the article of Luxuo

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Great post as usual. I had a couple thoughts. How about a ways to wear the navy blazer in a style of each bond actor? You could do a Moore, a Connery, lazenby, but also an interpretation of the later actors style. Perhaps Daltons ltk shirt jacket replaced with blazer, pierce would be pretty easy, and Craig's could be unstructured and most casual.

Another post could deal with a bond warm weather capsule wardrobe. Maybe an odd jacket, polo, linen pants, etc and a pair of loafers, chukkas, and espadrilles, then you could make several outfits pairing the items we all may already have into different scenArios? Just something that popped into my head. Thanks for listening! Chris
