All of this press negativity has made me tired of B25. Certainly tired of referring to it as B25.

This is the only new Bond film in my lifetime I haven't felt too excited about. Hopefully Eon turns all this around. Perhaps when the first trailer hits screens that old enthusiasm will come back?

In terms of Malek, though, is anything on his plate more important for his career than Bond 25? One could say, "Mr. Robot Season 4." But the critics seem united that the show peaked early on and the ratings have been dropping steadily from season to season. It was a stepping stone for Rami, not his defining work. Sure, he has a contract he must honor, but that's why all Hollywood contracts come with force majeure clauses.

I feel the same, although it has nothing to do with the press negativity (which is really just par for the course), or the various production issues. I’m just ready for a new actor to take on the role. DC has been great, but the franchise is feeling a bit stale.

Things will pick up....the injury to DC did not help but everything will align and this will be a great movie....I would rather them take their time with the movie than to rush things...I see Rami getting things moving with B25 in the next two months......also would not surprise me if DC is lured back into doing one more after B25 but time will tell on that one as he seems keen on hanging it up after this one!

The Sun is claiming they are having a hard time rescheduling Rami Malek due to the delays plus filming may be pushed back a full month...

CGI solves this. It's just not an issue IMHO.

Lots of movie scenes get audio re-dubbed in post-production and scenes can change in the edit.

I guess all publicity is good publicity.

You've lost me - how does CGI and audio dubbing solve scheduling conflicts?

They can digitally put someone's face on a body double or they can place an entire person into a scene. Or they could just never show them in the same shot. They can use body doubles to show one person from behind. It's possible as long as they don't have to cuddle with each other.

I understand what you can technically do but surely EON wouldn't take that route, would they?

I would think they will continue to shoot around Craig until he is cleared to lose the walking boot. It is possible that they could shoot some dialog from above the knees while he recuperates. My completely non-medical guess (based on an injury my field hockey playing daughter had) is he should be out of the walking boot within a couple weeks and getting plenty of PT. If he insists on doing a good amount of the physical stuff (which I think he probably will) they will push that back possibly to the latter part of July or early August.
With the April release date, they fortuitously gave themselves some cushion, which it looks like they will need every bit of.

The sunglasses in Bond 25 would have been his idea since he already owned a pair. For Skyfall Craig insisted they use the Billy Reid Bond Peacoat which he also already owned.

I bet he also influenced ditching the TF tan suit for the Brunello in Spectre too!!

Why not? If it saves millions of dollars.

If you watch the Bond/Blofeld meteor crater base scenes in Spectre, there are actually few shots where you actually need DC and Waltz in the same room. Most of it is single shots of the individual actors.

Often the cast is a necessary precaution and can make things look much worse than they are, so it is quite difficult to really gauge the severity of the injury. At best he'll be back to trotting around in a couple of weeks at worst 4-6 weeks.

Sure, but they are acting with each other- reacting to what the other does. In villain confrontation scenes that’s often quite tense so it helps if they’re working with each other. It’s not the end of the world (obviously not all actors even do their reverses!) and can be done, but it’s not ideal.
Plus that set needs to be used and then struck in order to keep the schedule rolling: leaving a set standing or rebuilding can really mess the whole schedule up. Having to travel back to a location could be even worse!

Yeah; I was only kidding! It certainly makes sense when it comes to sunglasses: he’s likely to found a pair that suit him!
I didn’t know that about the pea coat: that’s interesting, thanks :)

I'm not sure if Bond's confrontation with Goldfinger would have been quite as exciting if he'd done it over Skype! :D

I remember Timothy Dalton was in awe of Kathrine Hepburn because she was actually on set sitting behind the camera acting With him during his scenes. This was in "The lion in the winter" in 1968. Many actors, especially stars, don't bother being on set when they're not on camera.

Yes, I mentioned that above, but I think the culture has changed a bit since then and it's seen as professional to turn up and do the reverse shots. I'm sure not everyone does it though, yes.

I think things have changed since then. From what I hear it's unprofessional to not be there for others to act off of.

Edit: whoops didn't see the last post. I agree :)

I think playing James Bond should come with a government health warning:

    14610736-7125175-image-m-49_1560190242660.jpg

    :s

Craig's injury may delay the film? Worst case scenario - Bond 25: 'Shatterfoot' goes back to a winter 2020 release.

Regarding actors on or not on set - Peter Sellers refused to act with Orson Welles on 1967's Casino Royale. Some or all of the scenes in the casino - Bond vs Le Chiffre - were filmed on different days. Welles filmed his scenes on one day, Sellers on a different day. Sellers actually walked off the set and film itself (!) and had to be persuaded to return. The film was a production nightmare! ;)

Is there any actual real news regarding Bond 25? Or does any journo actually do any research before publishing? New Bond 25 gunbarrel sequence..... Only don't get too excited https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7149757/FIRST-teaser-Bond-25-sees-Daniel-Craig-adopt-spys-trademark-pose-fires-gun.html
In other news DC hits the gym

Maybe they have changed the story since you read it, but if you scroll down they do admit that it is the barrel sequence from Casino, but yes, you're right, they give the impression for much of the story that it is something new.

On the bright side, with newspapers publishing any ludicrous story about Bond25, they must be getting some serious internet traffic, suggesting that there is immense interest in Bond25. :D

Skyfall and Spectre both published a first image that would be seen in the film, not a BTS shot, 71 days after their start of filming, for Skyfall that was a 3 November start of filming and Spectre's was a 3 December start.

71 days would equate to Friday 5 July for the first Bond25 picture, if we take 25 April as the start of filming. So, only 18 days until then.

If the Norway filming had been considered the start, then 71 days would have meant a picture released on 5 June.
