Well as for the missing signature on the extension letter, just imagine for a second that the EU would have treated the UK with such thimblerigger stunts!

Our conservative friends would have gone ballistic!

Pretty sure that Rees-Mogg or one of the other clowns will challenge the legality of the extension afterwards.

Re: The not so short lived non argumentative political thread.

Just following the debate in Westminster.

Many MPs rightfully complain, that the time is not enough to check, discuss and eventually amend the Brexit Deal law within a couple of days.

Brexit is a historic event and the conditions should be thought through thorougly - particularly as no-one can really trust the PM and his word.

Hope that tonight the prorogations falls him onto the foot as there is not enough time to discuss.
He started the gameplaying - why should anybody play by his rules?

Re: The not so short lived non argumentative political thread.

IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is killed in a US raid. Hurray!
Congratulations to Delta Force who put their life on the line. This is a major loss for IS. I also have to admit President Trump took a political chance in allowing the raid. He did great damage in the region when he pulled US forces out of Syria. A move that helped Russia a lot, but probably also IS. Still, this time he did the right thing.

Re: The not so short lived non argumentative political thread.

I am confused:

There was a referendum about remaining or leaving the EU in 2016.
And everybody who comes up with the idea to repeat this is shouted down with ‚vote as long as you like the result‘ and ‚ignoring the democratic vote‘.

Then there was a parliamentary election one year later and the same people who are totally against repeating the referendum are trying everything to ignore that vote (which is the more recent vote and isn‘t the parliament the core of our democracies?), shut down parliament because they do not like what the parliament decides and push for another election. So basically vote until they like the result.

Isn‘t that a bit contradictory?

And then Trump did the wrong thing. Didn't take him long, did it? The man just can't help himself, his personality always wins in the end. Now he's mocking Obama for not getting al-Baghdadi, completely ignoring that Obama got bin Laden. Trump says Obama didn't care about getting the Is leader. Hardly presidential behaviour.
Obama didn't mock Bush jr for not getting bin Laden, but Trump can't be maganimous even in victory.

Trump:"I'm a big fan of Erdogan"

The president's admiration of authoritarian leaders never ends. When will he say stuff like that about allied leaders from countries with a free press and free elections?
