Dr No, James Bond "style" plaques. Le Cercle/Les A screen used props.

DrNoPlaquesDrNoPlaques SwabyPosts: 239MI6 Agent
These are of the same type used in the first James Bond film and even better, in the baccarat scene where he speaks the immortal words, "Bond....James Bond" so there must be some "old timers" out there that would like to own a set of these, or even just a £50 or £100 maybe. They were borrowed from the casino so obviously I have no idea which ones were used in the scenes and which weren't but maybe one day............I believe I can say screen used and prop in the correct context though, yes?
Drop me a line if interested. I have lower grade ones too. Not available anywhere else in the world (well maybe the odd set here and there but no more than 2).

    Welcome to AJB.

I can vouch for these and the seller. They are 100% genuine. The first Bond props from the first film, it’s amazing they survived and turned up all these years later.

Thanks for that but for those that don't know me................ I'm a collector of casino items that just happened to stumble across these mythological items so would like to get them to the right homes so..........Bond collectors, plaque collectors, anybody with interest for a piece of history. Thanks for your kind words though, appreciated.

Thanks Texas, appreciated. I don't really collect plaques per se (unless older UK) so I don't have any of those and to be honest, the "new" Playboy just doesn't "do it" for me, sorry to say. Again, thanks for the welcome though.

The good Dr. is a good man and a friend. I purchased some plaques from him a few years back and again this month, along with beautiful chips and jetons. He is a kind man and a trusted seller on eBay and off. You will not be disappointed!

Thanks Matt, appreciate that. The ones from years ago were not Bond ones, just in case. Only just found the Bond ones which you are now the proud owner of, so glad you are happy with them. Thanks again.

Very nice, trades are possible. I think it's ammonia from the "newer" ones not formaldehyde incidentally. Seems that was mainly used in the lunette type. Yes, not nice but "nature of the beast" with older plaques.

Sorry NFS but thought the 0007s would go down well here so...............quick "show off" as requested.
The £500 was used on the Mills' yacht so is stamped with "Milamba" and pretty awful due to the sea air I'm assuming. At least it survives!!

Anyone know what the "Milamba" reference means? Name of the Monaco yacht, perhaps?

I believe so, still exists but under a different name now. No, sorry, don't know. First part is from his name (obviously) Mil...amba?

Not many of the top ones left now so only average ones at a cheaper rate.
I have 3 or 4 more orders to fill first and then will be listing on ebay the better singles left and average sets, all with faults. Hopefully some of you will be interested enough to buy. Still great to look at but the backs mainly suffer from ink spots/blisters. Each set is different.

Just to echo some of the previous comments, the Dr is a true gent and knowledgable about his subject. These plaques are superb and are a valuable link to one of the most famous scenes in film, let alone Bond history.

As Matt says you won’t be disappointed. If anyone is on the fence about getting one or more then just go for it, these won’t be around for long and you’ll regret it later.

I would also like to add my comments, these plaques are something special and really compliment any Bond collection no matter what your area of collecting is.
    The good Dr. is also joy to deal with as well -{

I, too, have just recently added a set of these plaques to my collection. It is amazing to hold a piece of that set, from one of the most famous scenes in cinema history, in your hand. I will never regret obtaining these - I would only have regretted letting the opportunity to buy them pass by. And DrNoPlaques is very knowledgeable and willing to share his information about the plaques, helping to establish their authenticity.

Thanks for the endorsement, been a pleasure dealing with all of you on here, so far.
There is nothing better than seeing historical items go to appreciative homes so thank you again.
Hope you all enjoy the festive season.

I am trying to cater for most budgets.......

I will try to get lower grade/priced ones after the New Year but wanted to get some really great ones out if possible.

Last try at a Sales drive to hopefully get some sold before Christmas........As many good homes as I can manage and that would like to have the chance of owning one of the better ones.
If in the US then there is a sales tax, sorry.

Own a piece of history. I will try to sort out some more sets in the New Year (as I said) so until then, enjoy your festive season.

Still trying to cater for every budget but only the £100s so far. Good, bad and ugly!
The £500 that is up is representative of most of them (the cheaper one obviously) but there were only 100 made.
Also the £50 but when they "go" they really go, quite nasty.
A chance to own a small part of film and Bond history.
    Honestly, you won't regret it.

Are links to Ebay not allowed as it keeps disappearing.

Treat yourself this Christmas, go on, you know you deserve it.

Yes, links to eBay outside of the eBay thread are not allowed in sales threads…otherwise we end up with too many threads that just link to eBay sales - which just clutter up the forum.

    Thanks you.
I was just hoping to get some to the right homes (which I've done) although I was sure that more people would show an interest. Oh well.
  • DrNoPlaquesDrNoPlaques SwabyPosts: 239MI6 Agent
Thank you all for your interest, the people who bought are happy and I know they'll be treasured which keeps me happy so for the moment there are only the ones on Ebay for sale although please get in touch if you are thinking of buying so they don't charge you the taxes. They're listed on £1 days so UK are fine. Thanks again and Happy New Year to all.
  • DrNoPlaquesDrNoPlaques SwabyPosts: 239MI6 Agent
There are still a couple of sets and singles of the £10s, £50, £100s and £500s on ebay if anybody wishes to take a look so they can see the grades and prices. Just put Le Cercle (or Dr No) in the search and they'll show up.
Thanks to all who showed an interest and even bigger thanks to those that bought and gave them good homes.
    I appreciate it. Have fun.

Just a quick update to thank the 20 people who are now the proud owners of a set of Bond plaques for buying them and helping me to raise over £1000 for a variety of charities. Greatly appreciated by myself and them and all worthy causes. Thank you all and enjoy your plaques.
