Is that the official recruitment slogan?

    :))

The quote is often given to Churchill when he was in charge of the navy during WWI. He later said he didn't come up with it, but he wish he had.

Watching the older James Bond films, I have developed an admiration for Lois Maxwell (I choose my words carefully!) Apart from being a beautiful woman, I think she is the best Moneypenny of the whole film series.
if you want to see more Lois Maxwell, there is an early episode of Danger Man entitled "Position of Trust" (Oct 23 1960) in which Maxwell has a prominent costarring role as a local agent assisting John Drake on a case. If you think of how our current Eve Moneypenny started as a field agent, maybe classic Moneypenny did too?
the episode also features Donald Pleasance, and its up on Youtube: you'll have to crank the volume. Maxwell enters about 4:25 minutes in.

She is the definitive Moneypenny. Fleming barely described the character, so Lois Maxwell basically created everything we know about her. None of the other actresses have done much with the character though Naomie Harris is best since the original.

Like Harry Saltzman, Maxwell was Canadian (born Kitchener Ontario!), She used to write a column for the Toronto Sun when I was a lad, actually credited to Miss Moneypenny. Can't remember what she wrote about, sorry, though the paper is otherwise a rightwing tabloid. Hope it wasnt their usual rabblerousing. Anybody else remember her newspaper column?

    AJB is veeeeery slooooow today?

It is my first day off in some time and my wife has taken over the TV! She does not like James Bond films so I have to be careful and time when I can watch them! Tonight instead of a 007 DVD it will be 'Strictly Come Dancing'! She has something else planned to watch for afterwards - she also thinks it is rude to be on the computer during 'family time' so I must sit and 'enjoy' her programmes.

The joys of being married! :))

Unfortunately AJB has been very slow for some time now. I don't know why this is, but there are many members I miss.

I now watch my favourite Films on my own, in my own " Fortress of solitude " :D
So I can enjoy them in Peace and quiet ;)

Me too. I'm sure I must be a nightmare to watch Bond films with, like some unwanted commentary track :))

I actually meant that AJB was being very slow to load pages etc.

I too watch the James Bond films when I am on my own, but this is difficult as we have only one television so I have to do it 'carefully' and time my actions so that I can do so without causing arguments :))

Having tried it several times, I can report that it is indeed no fun to watch the films with someone who tut tuts and says 'this is rubbish!' etc all the way through!

Sadly this is the case at the moment. The problem does come and go, but it is very irritating and I'm sure it is costing us posts and viewings which I take it is what N24 means by saying there are people he misses. Well, me too and I hope they return.
SiCo is aware of the situation and has plans to improve it.

Been meaning to ask this, since the comeback episode went live. What does everyone think of James Bond Radio's new format?

I thought the episode with Brian Dobson and Tom Sears talking about Piz Gloria and the 50th anniversary of OMHSS was interesting.

Not sat through an entire episode yet. But is the interactive aspect of the podcast still there? Are people still able to leave messages?

The rotating of the co hosts is a good idea.

I'm intrigued about this week's episode of JBR.
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

I tried to post this earlier but AJB was so slow that I gave up 8-)

I have got something called a 'Q Card'. Die Another Day interactive CD -Rom. It looks like a CD (with the hole in the middle) but is the size and shape of a credit card. Has any body heard of this? Is it a novelty or can I put it in my computer? I don't wan't to try it until I know that it will not hurt anything.

    Thank you.

It seems the "Q card" is the CD provided with the 1:18 cars at the time ...
I have some but never used 'em ...

I'm impressed by the brave civilians who stopped the terrorist in London. I'm particularely impressed by the man who fought the terrorist uising a the tusk of a narwhale. Of cource lots of Norwegians walk around town carrying narwhale tusks, but I had no idea Englishmen do too :D

    ripped them off the walls to use as weapons. -{

Everytime I watch SPECTRE, One minor annoyance I have ( This is probably only me ) The
Butler who holds the silver tray to take Bond's gun, always reminds me of the comedian
    Jimmy Carr :)

The government conservative (well, everything is relative), so they want to privatize things. Lately they let a Swedish company fly ambulance planes in northern Norway. It did not go well. One thing is that their planes aren't up to the rough conditions, neither are the personell. A doctor resigned, saying: "I'd rather work in a war zone!" :p

There was a good show today on BBC2 about the career of Sean Connery, it featured many interviews with him, a lot of which were filmed at the time of the Bond films (including NSNA). I hope some of you managed to see it.

Can I take the opportunity to with you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year.
