Well that doesn’t seem as ugly as we were lead to believe, I’d say.

I concur, and would even venture into it being bad ass, personally, of course. Aluminum bezel that will fade over time, according to Hodinkee.

And comes on a grey and beige nato also, which I happen to really like. Hopefully that will be sold by itself, but doubtful.

Yeah it’s very nice. I don’t know if it’s quite pipped the Spectre watch for me (my preference isn’t for round dot indices) but I think it’s rather stylish all the same.

Nope. That black dial colour is nicer than the screen worn ones.

Very sharp. Glad it's not limited so that I can get a used one in a few years at a more reasonable price.

It's a really good looking watch.

The only problem I have with it is the 9200 USD price tag. That's 4000 USD over the normal SMD 300m.
You actually get more with the normal Seamaster Diver 300m:

    Date Complication.
    Ceramic Bezel
Ceramic Dial (with lazer etched Seamaster waves).

So how do you justify 4000 USD more?
Is it just because of the Titanium?

I agree they are charging a premium, although Ti is always more expensive than the steel counterpart. I like the aluminum bezel and dial that will age and change color theoretically, but it should be cheaper than ceramic. Paying for the 007 connection no doubt.

I know it’s been said in the lead up to this release but just to confirm, this isn’t a limited edition? The whole “007 edition” with the Bond marked holder (or wrap, whatever it’s called) is throwing me. Also, that first line of numbers on the case back does look like a LE number, but it doesn’t make sense that it would be limited to only 923 pieces.

Here is the clarification on the case back:

"For aficionados of special editions, the case back offers a plethora of engraved reference points: “0552” is the code number specified for Navy personnel, with “923 7697” being the number for a diver's watch. The letter “A” is a code used to signify a watch with a screw-in crown. Clearly, “007” refers to James Bond’s agent number and the number “62” is the year of the very first James Bond film."

Well luxury watch pricing is utterly illogical and all very hard to justify (a £20 Casio actually works better and is more reliable than these things! Although it’s not just about the functionality I know) so I don’t think we can really look for anything to be justified! :)

I just wonder how much their adverts will make of the ‘No TIME To Die’ thing :D

So definitely not a limited edition then? Just a Bond edition in the regular collection?

Price is absolutely ridiculous and I feel comfortable saying that as I own more expensive watches.

Not only does the regular versions sell for significantly less at retail but when you factor in the depreciation of the regular models both new and used the price difference is insane.

I think the Spectre edition is a much nicer watch. If you are going to spend this kind of money on an Omega Bond watch, then I'd get that. It may not be the latest but it is a very nice watch.

Personally, I've moved on from Omega these days and I am a Rolex man. Rocking my 16710 Pepsi GMT II right now. Call me a pussy type of guy :)) .

Remember the watch is both titanium and a Bond edition, so you’re going to be paying quite a bit more than you would a regular SM 300m due to those factors—more so the fact that it is titanium but the Bond connection does add a bit of a premium as well.

Please don't fall into the titanium hype they are selling. Grand Seiko makes watches with some of the highest quality titanium for significantly less. Tudor has the Pelagos that sells for a fraction of the cost. Many brands work with titanium and it should never be a significant premium.

The Bond connection is what really drives the premium. The Spectre watch sells for more than double the cost of the regular 300 version of the watch these days but at retail pricing it wasn't too different. This watch is simply priced extremely high because they can. I think it'll be taking a decent hit off retail in the years to come.

All this being said, if someone loves the watch then by all means buy it. We all have our preferences. I am just voicing my opinion as a watch enthusiast that the pricing on this is not justified. As a watch on its own, regardless of price, I'm still not the biggest fan. Omega is making it a homage of the Sub that Connery wore and mixing in some Mil-Sub elements. I'm also not a fan of the Faux-Patina. I also do not like mesh bracelets at all.

If there is a Bond fan out there that is looking for their first nice watch, then I'd point them towards a Rolex Explorer that would be a lot cheaper and still has amazing Bond connections. If they want a dive watch, there is always the Sub or if you want Omega there are plenty of other dive options including the Spectre watch which you can get for cheaper than this on the market.

perfectly said, S A (paricularly about GS and how great they are!).

I find the pricing appaling, double of the price of a normal SMP and no ceramic bezel and a standard dial.

For those who consider about really wearing it: The lume in the bezel insert so far was a weak point when it's gotten wet.
Not sure if Omega solved this.

Did anyone hear, when the watch is available?
As it is a non-limited watch, I am not in a hurry getting it and will be leaving to the early adopters fighting for allocations and paying the full price ;)

    Available from February next year.

Yeah that’s the good thing about this one not being a limited edition, there’s no rush to go out and grab one because they’re not going to sell out. Also, give it a month or so after it’s released and you’ll most likely start seeing them pop up on the second hand market for a little less than retail—certainly not like most of the other Bond LE’s that sell for thousands more than RRP.

I hope that we‘ll see the prop watch soon to compare as to me the watch does not look like 42mm on DCs wrist from the pics that we‘ve seen so far.

I like this comment following the Hodinkee review:

„Omega confirmed that both elements will fade over time”... I’m so happy to learn that omega officially agrees that the watch will look worse as time goes on. On the plus side, this toothless review won’t scratch the aluminum bezel at all!“

This idea that Bond watches sell for way more than retail is not true. People point to the Spectre watch because peoples' asking prices are very high but in actuality it sells for around $7500 on the low end to $8500 on the high-end but with patience the $7500-$8000 price range is not too hard to find.

Retail on the watch was $7500. If you factor in tax, the watch is frequently selling for less than retail+tax amongst collectors. That being said, I heard of people at the time it came out getting discounts so they could be doing a lot better than others.

They already started the patina for you as this is a luxury product and you don't want to have to do a lot of work yourself :)) .

I love the watch but agree with others the price is ridiculous. I have a Bremont terra nova in titanium of which there is only 300 and it was almost half the price. I think Omega are pricing themselves out of the market. Even a brand new rolex sub is cheaper than this watch.

I don‘t know about Ti grades, but this came up on TRF:

„But, the huge problem here is the use of Grade 2 Titanium...especially if the screw down crown and tube are made with it. It is weak and inferior compared to GR 5 titanium...

Breitling used it a decade ago and the screw down crowns would strip out constantly. It was so bad they punted and switched to steel. Now they have another TI model (Bandit, but I think that is GR 5)....

Grade 2 makes it a pass for me..“

After initially falling in love with it, the bloom is already slightly off given the aluminum bezel and higher price point. It makes the 210.92.44.20.01.001 seem like more of a value, even without the mesh bracelet. The big draw for it now is that Craig had input into its design, but is that worth almost double a standard issue ceramic Seamaster with laser engraved waves? Brosnan's watch didn't seem to be marked up significantly for being a "Bond" watch. If it's not ridiculously overpriced, I may see about getting an official Omega mesh bracelet when they start to become available. Seems like that's a way off though, based on what the boutique told me.

I think Omega hit a home run here. I wish the price was lower and it wasn't Ti, but it is what it is. This is the watch I've been waiting for so I will be buying

Will the NATO strap be in the film at all? Or
    Just the shark mesh?

The sales rep at the boutique seemed to think it would be, but I took it with a grain of salt as we haven't seen any evidence.

If we look in the past, it was often advisable to buy Omegas with the metal bracelet and then buy the Natos/other straps for small money later.

To get the metal strap later, they came with a huge premium over the upcharge.

The mesh bracelet will be 99,9% be seen in the movie, so,I guess that most folks will want to get that in the end.

That aside, in the past, mesh metal bracelets stood for extremely cheap machine-made, I guess that Omega makes a ton of money on them by charging 1.100 more.
