Vickers was clearly influenced by John Barry's Bond music, though it's hard to resist the idea that in turn Barry might have taken some inspiration from Vickers' work on 'Dracula A.D. 1972' for 'Scaramanga's Fun House'. There's only a year or two between the movies, and they have in common one clear on-screen asset to suggest the tone: Christopher Lee!
