Compare:

Mike Vickers' piece for Hammer's 'Dracula A.D. 1972', 'Johnny Be Really Dead!/Van Helsing At The Church/Van Helsing Confronts Dracula/Rest In Final Peace/Main Theme: Dracula A.D. 1972' (Reprise) -

with John Barry's 'Scaramanga's Fun House' for TMWTGG -

Vickers was clearly influenced by John Barry's Bond music, though it's hard to resist the idea that in turn Barry might have taken some inspiration from Vickers' work on 'Dracula A.D. 1972' for 'Scaramanga's Fun House'. There's only a year or two between the movies, and they have in common one clear on-screen asset to suggest the tone: Christopher Lee!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Ha! It is very much like the fun house, isn’t it? :)

I like the sound of it and enjoyed the listen even though I've never seen the film. I certainly could feel a hint of Barry in that music, and I think your suggestion that Barry might have taken some inspiration from Vickers' work in TMWTGG seems like a reasonable one especially considering the presence of Christopher Lee in both films.

That's a great cue! I can hear the similarities with Barry, both from what Vickers took from 1960s Barry and from what Barry took from Vickers for the funhouse cue. Barry could take from others an incorporate it into his own sound, something that all of the best composers do.
