No Time To Die - World Premiere

The estimated date of the London World Premiere is March 31st, 2020 but no information has been released on it yet.

I have never attended a Bond premiere before but I would like to for NTTD.
Would imagine it is tricky and expensive to actually get tickets and go in and see the movie with the cast and royalty.

But I am thinking about just going to see the stars arrive and hopefully able to hear them talk in some interviews. Maybe even manage to get something signed by cast or crew.

Is it worth going for that? Or would it be very difficult to get to the front. I.e. Maybe need to arrive early morning to get your space?

What were your experiences of attending a Bond premiere?

I used to go up to them all the time: it's a bit of fun and you get to see the cast and stars. I think the last one I went to was Casino but did most of the Brosnans and it's fun. I don't remember getting there hugely early (after work certainly!) although was never too bothered about getting to the front and getting things signed. If you want to go you definitely should! Why not, eh? :) I do more or less live in London so it was no real trouble for me to get there though.
I haven't done any since they started doing them at the Albert Hall (I missed DAD) so it might be different, I don't know. I imagine they'd try and do it there again because it does look terribly grand on the telly.

I think the best Bond event I went to was the Ian Fleming Centenary thing in London: we had tickets and I remember standing outside to watch the stars arrive (Dempsey AND Makepeace turned up! :D ) and it was quite nice because some tourists wandered by and asked what it was and I said a James Bond event, and they asked if Daniel Craig was coming, and I said yes which they were obviously fairly excited about. And then at that moment, Roger Moore turned up in full dinner jacket (so basically dressed as Bond!)- that's got to be pretty good if you're on holiday in London and just randomly get to see two James Bonds in the flesh! :D
It was certainly pretty cool to see them both together on stage: it's not often you get to see more than one!

Considering the movie is released April 2nd, the Royal Premiere might be April 1st. If you plan to go and be near to the stars, be there many (about 6 - 8) hours in advance to secure a front row spot. Prepare for a long and dull wait, and hope it doesn't rain or freeze.

Some lucky guy won tickets to the Royal premiere on BBC Radio 1 this morning. I wonder if he knows how lucky he is! Let’s hope he’s actually a Bond fan...

Get well connected :D Some tickets might be won, but most of them will be handed out to sponsors and celebrities. There was something about being able to purchase tickets to the Spectre premiere, but those were very limited and very expensive. Should that opportunity occur, no doubt you'll read about it here.

Is there no fixed date for the world premiere so far?
    Is it not in London?
Wiki is of the opinion that it will take place in Matera.

They’re always in London. There’s no reason for it to happen in a small town like Matera. They need the press of a big city.

    But on what day?

Not all Bond world premieres were in London. The premiere of AVTAK was in San Fransisco as a thnk you for getting so mich Access to the city. . Don't know if there are more examples.
I don't see any reason not to have the NTTD premiere in London.

I went to the SKYFALL Premier at RAH just to hang out and celeb watch (I didn't have tickets). I managed to see Sam Mendes and the back of Judi Dench's head. I will be avoiding Leicester Square - it gets rammed and many are tourists. Is the Prenier confirmed as being 31 March? Does anyone have a link?

I had the chance to buy Spectre tix for RAH, but declined. I think they were approx £150-200. Apart from cost my main worry was having a rubbish uncomfortable seat and it spoiling the film.

Now confirmed on 007.com: 31st of March, Royal Albert Hall, London.

Since the premiere in London will be on March, 31, but the official start (in UK) is on April, 3, does it mean, the movie will definitely not be shown (in London) on April, 1 or 2?

    I would appreciate your comments!

The film is released on April 2nd in the UK, not 3rd.

    Sirs,

May I kindly ask again for your opinion on my question, if NTTD will not be shown before April 2nd, 2020, in London.
Or do you - especially those based in London - expect the possibility to see it on April, 1st - one day after the premiere?
    It would help me much.
    Thank you.

    Best regards,

It won’t be released early in London. Best early screening with the Premiere is the cast and crew screening. That’s it.

Anyone here seen a movie at the RAH and sat up there ?
    Thanks

Ok folks. It’s now 26 July 2021. Does any of know any more about the late September Premiere?

  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,483MI6 Agent

I know if it’s at the RAH I’m not going. That was not an ideal way to see the film for the first time.

It’s not really about the film itself though is it ? It’s the occasion. For a bond fan, I thoroughly enjoyed attending the RAH Spectre premiere. A few days later , I saw the film again in a local cinema.

To be honest, it ruined it for me. When I see the film for the first time, I want to enjoy the film. It would be OK if the Cast and Crew screening was before it so that the premiere experience could be enjoyed. But I couldn’t make it for Spectre. And for some reason the NTTD screening was scheduled for after the premiere in 2020. Which was odd. The RAH affair was too big. I like the small intimate premiers they had at the Odeon where you could actually meet everyone.

Quite a few people thought it was a miserable way to see the film. It was even worse for those seated way back or at the sides.

You guys have been very fortunate to get RAH Premiere tickets in the past. I appreciate it may not be a great viewing experience but the thrill and atmosphere of being there for the first worldwide showing, amongst esteemed company would make it worth it for me (at least once anyway).

I always watch the films at least three times when they come out and my second viewing is often better and more enjoyable than the first, as I feel less pressure aching for it to be a great Bond film and trying to absorb everything.

How does one even get tickets to the RAH Premiere? I assume they're not available to the general public.

    "Any of the opposition around..?"

There's one in September in Monaco, if you're prepared to drop $25k for a ticket.

you folks who go to the London Premiere should all shout "Phillip!!!" whenever anybody says something naughty.

If someone laffs, you'll know they're an ajb007 lurker or participant. Like a secret password.

    ________

EDIT: I take that back. If the Queen is really there she might find that disturbing. and she's probably not an ajb007 lurker and wouldn't get the joke.

    That’s interesting.

Just looked. It up. It’s a big charity event offering lots over and above the film itself and none of the cast. .

If they do show the film itself on the 29th September then I doubt they would do that before the royal premiere in London ( which was rumoured for the 30th) in which case maybe the London Premiere will be be a little earlier !?! I wonder !

Looks like the Premiere will be 28th September .
