Looking forward to the return of Iconic Alternatives. Will that be happening this week at some point?

Thanks! This weekend or early next week I'll be ready to go. My internet is being installed tomorrow so I'll be trying to set up all our connected devices (that always goes smoothly! :D ). I unpacked my photo equipment yesterday, today I'm picking up our car, my new phone and setting up my "photo studio" in the house, Thursday I'm organizing our Bond inspired living room and hanging clothes (80% of my stuff is still in boxes). So Friday, I'll get the site ready to go again and hopefully publish on Sunday. But I'll share some pics of the new house that may interest some of you.

    Cheers!

Amazing news, really pleased for you. That all sounds very exciting and I’m sure loads on here will be keen to see that!
What are the first pieces you’re thinking of working on?

I'm guessing you have had withdrawal symptoms like so many of us on the board, it will be great to have you and IA back, excited to see the new house as well.

I'm running a little behind schedule (you can thank the New York DMV for needing about 100 pieces of ID just to buy a damn car! That ate up 2 whole days last week X-( ). But, as promised, here are some pics of my Bond-inspired new digs (plus one of my dogs). Sorry in advance for the photo size. Still getting my tech organized now that I've had to change my phone and the different account info.

Wasn't the Armani, it was the Belstaff Patterson. And I thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone, so here are some pics of the new photo set up, with the new mannequin (NOW WITH A HEAD AND ARMS!!!! I need to give him a name!) wearing the sample of the made to measure repro I received from the maker:

Still need to do a little bit of set up work on the photo area and I'll have more details on the jacket (with better photos) within the next 2 days.

    Cheers!

I've found two possible budget options for the Vuarnet Edge 1613 sunglasses on Amazon:

JIM HALO Retro Round Steampunk Sunglasses

    6185Z9QJTtL._AC_UL1500_.jpg

    &

    DUSHINE Round Double Bridge Sunglasses

Both have similarities but I think the Jim Halo ones get the...Edge with their sun-blocking side trim.

Yea I did see those and already put my name on the list if there is one, thought someone might have others but I will try to have patience (unless someone finds something that I can have now )

I recommended those before and posted a review a while ago, my thoughts remain unchanged! They’re a good match for the screen used pants and some of my favorite chinos to wear

Do you have the original BC trousers? How close does the color get, would you say?
    Yes. Consssssiderably.

Do not own the original trousers, just compared the color based on pictures, videos, and the film itself.

Anyone looking for a Barbour Lutz wax jacket alternative for the Skyfall Barbour, they are selling on House of Fraser Website for £128 if you use the discount code EXTRA20 at checkout. Good buy for a nice jacket!

I am completely in love with the navy PoW suit from NTTD, but I am struggling to find an alternative where the check is neither too subtle nor too contrasting.

Did anybody run across an alternative as I am not about to throw $4000 at a the Tom Ford MTM :)

I purchased a white dress shirt from a company named Cerise, they take your measurements and I'd say it is a somewhat custom shirt, I got mine with cocktail cuffs, tried it on tonight, pretty nice actually, Not exactly TF nice but I will wear it no problem with a suit and the fit is pretty good.

Nice looking alternative for the casual jacket in Cuba from one of the latest trailers. Material is great and the style looks spot on to get the look. Got mine today and am very pleased.

How is the fit? I actually like the look better than the SA version (bite my tongue), is it a pretty trim fit?
  • JB1106340JB1106340 Posts: 434MI6 Agent
I would say it’s a pretty regular fit with a bit of give. I’m usually around a 38” chest and I got a small which fits nicely. So ordinary sizing should be fine. Material is lovely too, has the same look I think as the speculated Barbour jackets but not as old and used looking. Showing limited stock in some sizes though so might want to get in quick.

This one might be quite a good option. Hard to say how dark it is but it looks like a nice subtle pattern.
