NTTD UK cinema tickets release date

Hi all,

If this is the wrong part of the forum to post then, my apologies.

Just wanted to know if anyone had a line on when the tickets for UK cinemas are likely to be released?

I saw something about February on the 007 website but no exact date.
Yes but my martini's still dry.

I saw tickets available for the Netherlands available as of yesterday. I’d guess that U.K. ticket release should be imminent.

I just found out that my wife has booked a Caribbean cruise for our wedding anniversary, and the film comes into UK cinemas halfway through. That kills my plans to watch it the day it comes out 8-)

I guess I shouldn't be too annoyed though lol

How do I book my seats? Ticket vouchers are valid for participating Vue UK cinemas (excl. Northern Ireland) only. Each redemption code can be exchanged for any one ticket to see No Time To Die on or after general release. Your redemption codes can only be redeemed online and are subject to the full terms and conditions. Full terms and conditions can be found on www.007NoTimeToDie.co.uk. When the box office opens on Monday 2nd March 2020, details of participating cinemas and showtimes will be added to www.007NoTimeToDie.co.uk and you will then be able to choose your Vue venue and showtime. Once selected you will then be transferred to your chosen venue booking system where you just need to choose your seats and enter your VIP voucher codes to secure your tickets.

Is anyone worried about the chatter that they're going to push this release due to Coronavirus concerns?
  • lippelippe Posts: 134MI6 Agent
Not overly. If they push it back, we just see it later. Happens. Rather that then they have a poor box office return and the franchise is put in any kind of jeopardy.

I think if it underperformed due to an external factor there would be no threat to the franchise.

Performance is performance no matter the circumstances. If they don't make the money they need to make from it there is a problem.

Sure, but some of us are making transatlantic travel plans for it... :))

Saw a headline about this, but didn't read the article. Would it make sense to delay the release only in markets with high cases of confirmed COVID-19?
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

Plans that governments and airlines may yet cancel. Transatlantic travel is down and could yet be put on pause depending on which way the outbreak goes.

Great choice. I saw a film at the BFI IMAX a few years ago when we vacationed in London. The BFI is a great venue....the screen is 85'x65' and the sight lines are excellent, not to mention incredible sound. I just scored seats for Sat 4/11 at my local IMAX; it's not the BFI but at least the screen is 70'x35' and it has been recently renovated including upgraded sound. :)

Thanks. Seems like a waiting game to find out if the distributors get er act together and give the BFI a 70mm print. You’s think that they would have that major detail sorted prior to putting tickets on sale. 8-)

Talk in the press today of delaying release date due to the coronavirus!! Damn it!!

I really hope they don't delay it and don't think they should. The virus will be just as widespread if not more by the summer.

I‘m no expert on it but I think the film‘s marketing is far too advanced for another pushback to summer...
The name is Walker by the way.

Some think the virus will die down in the summer, like most viruses do.

Indeed, but half the globe will just be entering their Autumn in April..

How much of the market is in the southern hemisphere? I would assume the majority is in the northern.

"The Northern Hemisphere is home to approximately 6.57 billion people which is around 90% of the earth's total human population of 7.3 billion people." from wiki.

We can't extrapolate that directly onto box office takings, of course. But with the world's population 90% having their summer come mid-2020 and not December 2020, I think we can only all agree that MGM would opt to release NTTD to favour the northern hemisphere as opposed to the south.
