New Orlebar Brown Bond Collection

Coming in March 2020, according to the company’s social media channels.

I’m sure there will be plenty of excitement about this, but the novelty of the recent Bond clothing licensing bonanza wore off for me with the N Peal collection. Between that and the original OB stuff, I’m not sure how much is left? I guess we’ll find out soon.

I'm sure we're going to see more of the movie poster shorts. There's more classic Thunderball outfits they can recreate, and there's plenty of Roger Moore stuff they could replicate.

I missed out on the Skyfall Setters and would be really excited for another release. I doubt it'll happen though.

I’m eager to see what they come out with. I found that last year I needed to be very selective in my purchases given the prices that OB charges, but I ended up with a couple of pieces unlike anything else I wear. I can’t imagine parting with them.

I am predicting a pink linen shirt from YOLT, powder blue leisure suit from LALT (This years publicity grabber like the onesie last year), black half zip shirt from MR, shirting dressing gown from Octopussy....

I think they're going to go with more of the unusual clothes. It got them a lot of attention, and people loved the clothes.

Cheverian, the black half zip shirt from MR is something I'm hoping to see too. It sounds like people want to see the powder blue leisure suit, and the blue trousers would be great for anyone who got the DN polo before.

I'm wondering if they will replicate any of Roger's short-sleeve jersey knit shirts from FYEO? Frank Foster won't appreciate that, but it's perfectly legal to copy the shirts they made.

Y3 or TF style Harrington for Craig era items?

Edit. Looks like James Bond Lifestyle has the scoop on a few items {[]

I do hope they go with some of the unconventional items again as they did last time. The DAF safari shirt is one of my favorite items that I own. I would be interested in the Thunderball striped shirt, or a proper (i.e., not cashmere) version of Lazenby’s golf jacket, which could actually be used for golf!

How about the blue rugby shirt from Casino Royale?

I'd love to see Connery's nailhead dressing gown in Goldfinger, or an OB take on the brown Nehru jacket worn by Connery in Dr No.

How about really mixing it up and going to the dark side, with a few villain pieces? Goldfinger's Miami pool outfit?

They could definitely do a six-piece villain line. Goldfinger in Miami, Red Grant's towel ( :)) )

I don't see OB making suits, but based on the Mason & Sons stuff from just prior to OB's launch, I'd expect a seersucker camp shirt, a navy camp shirt, white camp shirt etc.

I'd have called it a reach a year ago, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a Leiter Line:

Nicely done - and wow, two TB shirts that have already been produced by Mason & Sons at what's surely a more affordable price point - https://us.masonandsons.com/collections/mason-sons/category_casual-wear?sort_by=price-descending

Mason did their striped and gingham shirts in seersucker, not a regular cotton like the original. The Mason shirts feel extremely cool in hot weather and don't really wrinkle, so they're excellent alternatives.

Wow, and I was just about to concur with Halfmonk Halfhitman that an swimsuit company making a linen suit seemed highly unlikely! I wonder if they read these forums, or if you guys are just prophetic, since both the linen suit and seersucker shirts were right on the money... ;)

Buying a suit from OB at what is sure to be an inflated price for a fused, RTW item is a nonstarter for me. I’m shocked they would go that route.

Fingers crossed they make a DAD Cuban Brioni shirt, too.

There’s already a great and affordable alternative available for this shirt.
    I can recommend it.

The suit will not be entirely linen, but rather a cotton/linen blend. Those of you that are Sean and Roger fans will be very happy with the collection.

What really would be a treat are Roger Moore‘s suede and leather jacket from AVTAK.
The name is Walker by the way.

Getting closer to this now. Anyone know if OB is doing a big pre-launch event for social media influencers like the last time? I’m trying to decide how excited I need to be for this. :))

Any word on if this collection is still coming out this month or will be delayed through to October / November? I imagine a delay is tricky given a lot of the pieces would assuredly be for Spring / Summer.
  • CheverianCheverian Posts: 1,446MI6 Agent
I doubt OB would delay since their merchandise is geared for summer wear and references the older Bond films in any case. Last year's collection did great without a Bond premiere at all!
  • lippelippe Posts: 134MI6 Agent
Good point. And should there be a NTTD element, they could simply hold that over to October.

No reason for them not to release. This capsule doesn’t seem to be tied to NTTD so I doubt the delay of that film will effect their sales.

I spotted our friend David from The Bond Experience mentioning on a podcast more Thunderball Connery Shorts from OB possibly in this upcoming collection!

We have already had the blue and pink shorts so guess this maybe leaves the white ones that Bond wears with the Fred Perry Polo?

I wanted these last time around when I bought my Fred Perry Polos so ended up buying some white "setters" - believe the shorter "Springer" model would of been more accurate but they were gone in white when I last looked!

Based on the previous run, don't count on the OB tribute piece to be the accurate length. Their Goldfinger swimsuit, romper, etc., all had longer legs than what Connery sported.

    Thanks Blair

Like the Blue Linen TB shirt

Really dont like the white lined / trim Gingham ?:)

White TB shorts look a bit too Budgie Smuggler for my taste - wish it was more like their shorts but with reduced length!!

    Moonraker Merino looks quite nice!
