What’s the difference the base material used I.e rubber vs something else.
I was looking for the one of these for years ultimately picked up a de activated (or butchered) one with silencer
Look like pretty accurate copies just like they have used in the later films.

Hi Bond 44, the PPK you have pictured is a de activated PPK, the one that I posted previously was a QOS Stunt, its either made out of hard rubber or resin -{

They look very convincing and of course are easier to transport and no need for armours etc on site. THought the second shot looked too real to be stunt.
Just curious how does one end up with a stunt PPK from QOS or any other bond film - auction or friends in high places?

They use rubber, resin and in SF, polyurethane stunt guns. The poly guns are a new thing, but the resin and rubber ones go way back to Connery's films. Donk can show you a bakelite PPK from as early as FRWL. The castings and finishing they put on them now though, make them visually virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

Very nice, @Simon_jrees! I need to get a brown-gripped PPK in my collection sometime - it looks nicer than in all black.
Thanks Quentin. You can get PPK grips on ebay and other sites by themselves. They're not difficult to find but do usually go for about 100+ notes for a decent pair that don't have cracks or anything.
