Re: Coronavirus
If it had a picture of the Queen on it, it's mine. I only ever had the one, and it had a picture of the Queen on it.

what time is it, Eccles?

I've got it written on a piece of paper!

I bet it gets punted to 2021. I really hope I'm wrong and that this all resolves itself in the next few months but I suspect we're in this for the long haul.
Maybe they give up, and do a digital release. It will come to the point when I'll just want to see it, no matter whether it's on the big screen or little screen.

Time traveller to 2020
Cebu now has 12 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and a state of calamity has been enacted. Food parcels are being delivered to the families of those affected.

I've been completely against it, but if NTTD gets delayed all the way to late summer next year I think a digital release should be considered.
There is a Catholic saint of protection against epidemics. Her name is of course Saint Corona ….
I was thinking the other night, how sad it will be for those Bond fans of a certain age who, due to
this virus may not be around to see NTTD. I know we all have more important worries for family
and friends etc, but I for one would hate to go out in a pine box without seeing it, with it being
so close. So Yes, I'm all for a digital release.
This is the Virus expert of the german government, Professor Dr. Christian Drosten from the Charité Clinic in Berlin.
My wife loves how he looks like a lab geek/nerd and myself appreciate how he‘s gotten very impatient about constant reporter questions, if football matches in stadiums should be still attended.
He became quite p*ssed off and said that he has more important things to do than discussing this issue on and on.
Imo he looks a bit like an older Q.
Yesterday we had food delivery vans burned out, and now this...

Him and Jogi Löw should make double appearances in this footie game matter!
That‘s exactly what my wife says.
She loves Jogi Löw!
I loved the Ryan Reynolds video, gently taking the p*ss out of celebs. Saying ....
At times of Crisis, who do we look to ? .... Yes Celebrities

It's interesting how the policies of the Scandinavian countries to stop Corona pretty much mirror their policies towards immigration. Just to make it perfectly clear: I'm not comparing immigrants to a virus, I'm comparing policies.
Sweden maintains open borders these days, Norway has border checks to screen people coming in and Denmark has pretty much closed its borders. Sweden doesn't allow groups of more than 500 people, Norway advices against groups of more than ten people and Denmark doesen't allow groups of more than ten people. In Sweden schools for 5-16 year-olds are open, in Norway and Denmark all scools are closed.
On immigrations Sweden is one of the most liberal countries in Europe, Denmark's policy is one of the strictest in Western Europe I think and Norway is somewhere in the middle. I'm not going to comment any more on immigration, but I'm worried about Corona in Sweden. Sweden has 64 Corona dead compared to Norway's 14. Sweden's population is about twice as large, but they have well over three times the number of dead.
I‘ve been just watching Andrew Cuomo‘s press conferences over the last days.
Anyone else believe that he‘s be a much better candidate for the democrats instead of Joe Biden?

I'm not a huge fan of Cuomo's in general but he's been doing a fantastic job during this whole virus situation in terms of leadership.
While Trump says Corona restrictions in the US will be lifted by Easter. I don't know if he really believes it or not, and I don't know if him believing it is worse than him knowing it won't happen and still saying it.

He can say whatever he wants; closing the states is not up to him, it's up to the governors, and most of the sane ones are looking at the big picture in terms of flattening the curve. I mean, I agree that we don't want to demolish the economy BUT we absolutely cannot say that lives are less important than the stock market.
I also think it's crazy that China is lifting restrictions !! given their history
of cover ups, false facts and silencing whistle blowers.
Trump certainly says whatever he wants ……
China isn't trustworthy at all, but the fact that the President visited Wuhan and some of the domestic restrictions are being lifted indicates the worst is probably over. Correspondents from democracies also say things are getting better.
Trump's been to Wuhan ! ... Fair play to him, I might have underestimated Him
( Yes, I know what you really meant )
Looks like first case has made it here. Sadly a 5 year old is in critical condition suspected to have the Virus (still cannot test here and isolated at the moment - no flights)
Your post reminds me of an American who posted a question on the history forum I sometimes frequent online: "Can anyone suggest some good civil war movies?" Of course we could! Russians, Spaniards, Englishmen, Chinese (even a certain Norwegian) suggested films about their civil wars. "I think he got the point"

I really hope that the worst IS over and that we can all start living normal lives in a couple of months, but everything that I've read about this situation from actual experts in the field indicates the real possibilities of the following:
- the virus mutating and causing a second wave of infections.
- restrictions being dropped too soon, causing a second wave of infections as people grow complacent.
The best way to beat this, especially until a proven vaccine is created, is to keep up the social distancing/isolation for a while after the rate of new infections go down so as to KEEP those infections going down. Rushing this will only cause secondary and tertiary epidemics.
