FWIW I heard Omega stopping/slowing down distribution as film delayed

Great new vlog, David! Presumably, Omega will send you the full package for the watch you decide to keep?

    No. They’re readily available now.

The problem here in the US is that the Omega Boutiques have their own marketing department and the information is basically lacking or conflicting with Omega corporate.

And they are all following a "script" asking for a deposit within the first few seconds of the inquiry. It's really frustrating and sad

Another reason to buy the watch not from a boutique.

It‘s very sad, I remember at the beginning, the Omega Boutiques have been splendid ambassadors and not pushing for a sale at all.

Just received my OHMSS watch. I know some/most of you don't care for it but I think it looks pretty slick in person. I got #6773 out of 7007.

FWIW: the rubber strap looks the same as the standard one that comes with the regular Seamasters but is actually a bit thinner and more pliable. I rather like it. It's much more comfortable.

    Excellent! Pictures please

Glad you're happy with it! That's what matters! Looking forward to your photos!

Can you post pics of the extras. Something else you don’t get with the NTTD watch.

That travel case is certainly nice. They should sell something similar separately.

There are some good videos of the NTTD Seamaster on the ViewsFromMark Youtube channel.

Here's his playlist for the NTTD watch:

Nice clear shot of the AT in one of the recently released BTS photos. Same as the one worn in SP?

They do! Nice but they’re £130. Comes in Brown or Black leather.

Got it. Thought you were talking about a travel case in general. Agree a Bond related one would be nice.

Why would they use the previous model Aqua Terra? Given how much attention was paid to the main Seamaster, it seems a bit odd to just use an old watch.

I have raised the question about the presence of the Aqua Terra since Skyfall. I think the consensus is that the AT is Bond's personal watch. Hence why we he has mostly been seen wearing it while he's rouge or off duty. Why he wasn't issued a new watch when put on back active duty in Skyfall still bugs me to this day.

Makes sense as this was the last watch he had before given one by Q. As he blew that up, he went back to his old one. Remember this is supposed to be the same watch he has had since returning to work in SKYFALL.

Yeah but the AT he had in Skyfall is different than the one he had in Spectre unless they're going to treat them as the same watch?

I think that’s exactly what we were supposed to do, as they changed the watch slightly after SF was filmed. Makes sense commercially that they’d use the new one in the new film. Visually they are virtually identical, only hardcore loons like us would notice the difference.

They have tried to keep a decent watch continuity between films after Casino Royale. The only oddity that can’t be explained is the vintage chrono at the end of SPECTRE.

Why would he have to be issued a watch? I'd expect my employees to buy their own! :D

Is it odd? He can just own another watch can't he? He's got another old Aston waiting in another lockup you know... :)

In Craig’s films up to SPECTRE, his watches aren’t gadgets, they’re just watches. Gadgets weren’t a prominent feature until SPECTRE.

The chrono in SPECTRE is an oddity as it’s not a current model so serves no purpose in the brand tie in and Omega branding within the films. I still wonder why they chose to put that watch in there. And it was purposely put into that scene as it was part of and in the ‘prop bible’ used on set for continuity.

Well, they have Bond driving away into the sunset in a 1965 Aston, maybe they thought a 1965 Omega—not a brand spanking new Omega—would be a nice matching touch. After all, sometimes the old ways/things are the best.

And on that note, if anyone ever runs into one of those vintage Omega 101.010 chronos, you know where to find me.

This model is very hard to find.
I came across one in 3 years.
Interestingly, the model shown in Jamesbondlifestyle is not 100% accurate.
101.010 had a bigger crown or winder.

    Cheers

Yeah there's a couple bits of the 101.010 that differ slightly to the watch in the costume pic, but it is very close. I've got every bit of the SP final scene outfit, except the watch...and the car of course...so pretty keen to hunt one down.
