Having been there, I can tell you that the film has the roads the wrong way round.

I've got to admit that for me personally the whole Scotland section of the film doesn't feel sufficiently Bondian to me. It's brilliantly directed, shot and played... but it's more 'High Noon' than James Bond.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

The real lodge once owned by Fleming's family looks nothing like Skyfall in the film. It's very well protected. And a little further up the road from where I was photographed.

Amazing how much unnoticeable CGI went into the Scotland scenes—background mountains, lake in the background, low clouds; didn’t know until watching BTS that they weren’t there in reality.

If only Connery had come out of retirement to play Kincade for the fiftieth anniversary...

If that had been Sean Connery, the entire audience would have started yelling "It's Sean Connery!" and the film would have died.

It's a clever reversal of the finale being in the villan's lair.
But being out in the country and low-tech is sort of un-Bondlike.

It was always utter crap. This film merely proves that.

Is this the first "f*ck" spoken in a Bond film?
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 36,057Chief of Staff

But maybe, after that moment, Craig and Dame Judi could have brought Kincade with them back into the rest of the movie... through their sheer acting chops. It's a moot point, anyway.

Still don’t know why, not even one, “henchman” checked in the car for anyone.

Nah, wouldn't have happened. He's a force of nature.

Isn't that a NH90 helicoptre? Delivered only about 15 years late to the Norwegian Navy :))
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 36,057Chief of Staff
I have to admit that Craig is very good in these scenes.

AgustaWestland AW101. The NH90/MRH-90 does look pretty similar though—fun to fly in as well; we have them over here in Oz.

"Go to the chapel! Use the tunnel!" Bond barking orders in the same style as he does in DN, FRWL and TB.

I mixed them up. AW101 was delivered late for search and rescue. That was late because of stupidity on the Norwegian end. :#

Thank God they didn't hav eBond shooting down the helicopter using his Walther PPK like they did in in SPECTRE!

Maybe Spectre was trying to one-up this :))

They remembered frost smoke coming out of people's mouths!
  • JTMJTM Posts: 3,027MI6 Agent
Bond does a great job sprinting over uneven ground in near darkness!

What would be the approximate temperature in Scotland that time of year (Autumn/Winter maybe)?
