The Bond theme has new swing and swagger. Martin respects Barry but makes his score/arrangements very of the moment.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Is it only me or is the Blu Ray material not very sharp and crisp?

The PTS is witty and varied but this, together with the PTS for TMWTGG, is really the last gasp of old style PTSs, before the TSWLM parachute jump changes everything...

Music- “Snakebit” (sic) not on original release, added in 2003 remaster. A longer version turns up later. Similar to George Martin’s orchestral arrangement on “A Day In The Life”, from “Sgt Pepper”

Love how the music calms down at the beginning and then later explodes.

Linda McCartney wrote the mid-section (“What does it matter to ya?”)

Key of G major for the verses, G minor for the instrumental sections (yeah, I’ve played this one)

This title song is probably the most unconventional of them all ….. at least amkng gher good ones. I hope the next Bond song (Bond 26) is a rock song.

Everyone knows the story of George Martin playing this song to Harry Saltzman? Harry thought it was a demo and began wondering which current female singer could do it. Martin had to gently point out that Paul McCartney doesn’t do demos (!), and that if he didn’t get to sing it then Harry would not get the song.

Paul McCartney's song...the lyrics fit a Bond on the rebound after losing Tracy... it's like a Lazenby 'grieving
    Bond on the rebound' song

Clearly that sort of "gadget" was unusual back then.

@Barbel: Why did they make a conscious decision to make MooreBond prefer different things to ConneryBond? His affinity for cigars and bourbon (no ice) really stand out and are completely at odds with established canon.

I'm glad they reverted back to vodka martinis come TSWLM.

    To avoid direct comparison
