Questions about dying a shirt...

I have DM'd Indy and Dan about this, but wanted to throw it out there for anyone else that may have some knowledge regarding this type of thing. I recently purchased semi-custom shirt from an overseas maker. They made it pretty much as ordered, but with a few errors. The collar is stiff, which I LOVE, but the lining is white. The same goes for the cuffs and placket. The shirt is navy in LINEN/COTTON blend. The lining in these areas are easily seen through the shirt material. I was curious if any of you knew a good way for me to dye the shirt and get a good result? I'd like to keep it navy or at least make it into a black shirt unless any of you have other suggestions. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated. In case anyone was wondering, they could remake it for me with some changes. However, they offered to make me a whole new shirt at no cost to me. I figured I would buy something a bit more Bondian at this point. Something in light blue or white. Anyhow... Thank you!

well I'm no expert but from the little experience I have with dying fabrics I wouldn't recommend trying to dye blue into black, if you are going to try it at all I'd say stick with blue. Second, if you dye the whole thing blue, it is likely that the white fabric will not turn into the same color as the fabric that is already blue, it will be blue, but unlikely that it will all end up the exact same blue. Just my .02

That is my fear too. The present state of the shirt isn't unwearable, but it isn't ideal. I can wear it and have. It just isn't what I wanted. I talked to the company and they can remake the shirt with darker lining, but idk if I wanna run the risk of a second issue. I can say with confidence that the same issue wouldn't be an issue with a shirt that isn't that type of material. Anyhow, thank you for the input.
