Garden of Death is perhaps the strongest Fleming story thread left unused (the brainwashed 00-agent in M's office being the contender IMO) That's the way the Blofeld storyline should end :007)

Here is a Volvo comercial from a road not far from here. The lady speaks my dialect, so I sound like her (but with a really manly voice :D )
This stretch of road looks was filmed in the autum, so it looks like an improved version of Scotland :v , but it can look greener or whiter depending on the season. This would be really good for a car chase :007)
The hotel is an old tourist hotel that was frequented by the German kaiser and other royals.

The road is closed in the winter, but I'm sure it can be re-opened for Bond.

The Bailong Elevator (Chinese: 百龙) (literally Hundred Dragons Elevator) is a glass elevator built onto the side of a huge cliff in the Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie, People's Republic of China that is 1,070 feet (330 m) high- (from wikipedia)

Perhaps another elevator fight, a bit like DAF? Imagine a Bond/Hinx fight where Hinx has a baton or something else that breaks the windows?

A fantastic idea. But would they want to film in China? Or is that okay now?

I think so. The Karate Kid remake, Mission Impossible 3 and some other movies have been shot there.

    Great location there!

Is Hinx still alive then?! ?:)

Yes a great location ,seems to have a touch of AVTAK .
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I agree with Matt: I live in NYC and I love it, but there is nothing 'original' about it anymore. unless they use the new World Trade Center for the first time in a movie, including the beautiful new station, which looks like it was designed by Ken Adam.

I wouldn't go either to Chicago (popular movie location) or Washington. Actually, skip all of North America. For some reason it just doesn't always work for Bond, except for New Orleans in LALD in my opinion.

    My options:

    - Barcelona
    - Madrid
    - Lisbon
    - Nice, France
    - Oslo
    - Osaka/Kyoto
    - Brussels
    - Dubrovnik
    - Budapest
    - Abu Dhabi
    - Costa Rica
    - Alberta, Canada
    - Edinburgh
    - Seoul
    - Bali

I just saw a TV program about the canals of Kerela, India. I think it's time Bond returned to India and the houseboats and the area looked great. I can imagine Bond seducing a woman or meeting an informant on a houseboat like these.

Australia - C'mon, this one's obvious. Would love to see some scenes in the outback
    New Zealand
    Indonesia
More of South America, he hasn't been there often. Peru, Chile, Argentina
    South Africa
Canada - The second largest country in the world and he's never been there

These are the main ones I want.

Here are some other, more specific ones I want:
The Garden Of Death (which would mean a return to Jaoan)
    Easter Island
    The Grand Canyon
    El Castillo in Mexico
    Petra, Jordan

There's probably many many more, but I'll leave it at that for now

It's not strictly speaking a location, but I'd like to see a passenger drone in a future Bond movie. Bond movies have a history of showing cutting edge and/or unusual transportation such as Concorde, hovergraft and hydrofoil. It looks like drone taxis and other passenger drones will be in regular traffic in just a few years. I doubt the companies making the drones will allow action scenes involving their vehicles, but a transport scene can be made interesting by showing a passenger drone.

But James is New Zeland photogenic enough ? Would it look good on film ? :p {:) :D

If MI: Fallout can do it, so can Bond.
That's where I am from by the way, and I reckon they could easily do Queenstown or somewhere close in the South Island.

I've "always" wanted Bond to go to the Arctic or Antartica, possibly even for real. If Bond goes there I'd like the Soviet-era "antarctic cruiser" called Kharkovchanka to be used by Bond or possibly the villan. It's a huge land vehicle especially designed for use in extreme cold and it has bunks, a kitchen, radio room, navigation room and more.

Or perhaps the production designers can make a modernaized version? It could have a very unscientific bedrrom with a double bed for Bond and the leading lady :D

The Kharkovchanka is 28 ft × 11 ft × 13 ft, weighs more than 7700 lbs and it can handle -94 degrees Fahrenheit. It also has a kitchen, bunks and a navigation room. It would flatten the car in your picture :D

#24, have you seen Billion Dollar Brain?
I was thinking of you as I watched it, as most of the film is set in your corner of the world (a bit to the East: Helsinki, St Petersburg, and Latvia and various frozen wastelands in between)

The villain uses a fleet of very similar vehicles to attempt an invasion of Latvia across the ice, having calculated the ice can hole the weight of an individual vehicle when spaced properly.
the Soviets just fire some missiles at the ice and the invasion fleet disappears without a trace
it also reminded me a lot of Garners third Bond novel Icebreaker, I wonder if Gardner was inspired by Billion Dollar Brain?

I haven't seen The Billion Dollar Brain, but I've seen the two prequels and I liked them. Sounds interesting. I actually did learn how to set charges to blow up the ice on lakes and rivers during my national service.

The Parilament just voted to build the Stad ship tunnel, the first ship tunnel of any size in the world. It will be finished in four years. I'd love to see a boat chase going through the tunnel in a Bond movie.

I've just watched an episode of "Great canal journeys" and this time they visited Northern Vietnam. Almost every where looks like it should be in a Bond movie. Much of the landscape shown looked like something out of TMWTGG and TND, but it looks so glorious it shouldn't be a problem. Some of the towns and cities are influenced by their French colonial past and even before and the ones in the episode were beautiful. If I had to pick one location it would be Hoi An during the festival where they put burning lanterns on the river to remember the dead. Perfect for a romantic scene! A boat chase on one of the rivers would be spectacular too!

  • Charmed & DangerousCharmed & Dangerous Posts: 7,358MI6 Agent

I visited Vietnam in spring 2019 and Hoi An is the most amazing place, particularly at night with the coloured lanterns strung across every street, as well as the floating candles on the river. It's not too far from Halong Bay, where TND's final scenes were set (and probably filmed) and on which we had an overnight boat trip. Can't recommend a visit enough.

Lately I've shown moderation and restraint in posting possible locations in Norway. This madness has to end now! 😁

This is Røst (pronounced like "rust"), a small and geographically islotated island community off the coast of northern Norway.

Not a location, but a car. I was looking at electric cars online and the Lotus Evija caught my eye. Lotus has a history with Bond and I can easily picture this car in a Bond movie.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,699MI6 Agent

I think I've suggested this location before, but it's worth repeating. This road in Pengshun county in northern China seems perfect for a James Bond action scene.

Has the Bond movies had a city in winter as a major location? Right now I can't remember any. Action movies rarely show snowy cities. I think a snow-clad city offers oportunitues both visually and in terms of action scenes.
