"It would certainly fill the void any Bond gaming fan currently feels. To my knowledge there is no other Bond gaming projects ongoing at this point in time so why not utilise the popularity of this one to drum up new interest in the franchise and/or reinvigorate Bond videogames."
My guess is there are three factors stopping a new 'proper' Bond game for consoles:
1) The terrible critical and commercial reception of 007 Legends, which makes Eon wary of getting their fingers burnt again;
2) Eon wanting to concentrate on films rather than spreading their resources too thinly, into projects which might be less successful;
3) Sales figures. This is the big one. While the earlier Craig console games sold rather well, with Quantum of Solace selling over 3.78 million units and GoldenEye 007 selling over 3.16 million, from then on the sales began to fall. Blood Stone sold only 1.21 million and 007 Legends an unimpressive 0.78 million (less than half a million sold on each competing console system for Legends.) A new Bond game would need to be marketed strongly in a crammed console shooter/action market, competing with CoD, etc. Is this really worth the time and effort for Eon?
Those are my thoughts on why we haven't seen a new Bond game lately...
