Input on Casino Royale Planet Ocean XL

I'm thinking of going for my first Omega and near the top of the list is the CR PO XL but I'm a bit concerned about it being too large for me. Would love to hear from some of you that have personal experience with the watch and the XL size, thanks in advance for the input.

What’s your wrist size? I had the PO XL a few years ago but passed it on because the 45mm case was just too big on my 6.75” wrist—planning on going for the non SE QOS PO (42mm) when I can find one in good condition for a good price.

7 1/4 maybe a little over, I'm 6'0 tall and weigh about 200 lbs. but my wrist isn't huge for sure.

Granted your wrist is a half inch larger than mine I'd still choose the 42mm version as it's just more practical for day to day use. What are the other models you are looking at?

I’ve just last week exchanged my 45.5mm planet ocean for a 42mm QoS model. I have a 7” wrist and always thought it looked a bit too big and bold for my tastes.

One thing you might consider is doing what I and others here have done: buy the QoS Planet Ocean and then buy a genuine Omega rubber strap which you can swap out for the bracelet in the summer. It's like having two Bond watches in one.

Also works for the SF PO, though obviously not as screen accurate

Quick question, where do you measure from to find the size? Do you include the crown or not? Not sure what size mine even is!
  • bosoxfanbosoxfan Posts: 611MI6 Agent
no the measurement doesn't include the crown, the standard measure is just from the outside of one side to the outside of the other, then there is also a lug to lug measurement that is often used too.

I would measure the case from the 2 to 8 using a pair of calipers (if metal calipers put tape on the ends of the caliper to prevent scratches) The Casino Royale PO is a 45mm case model #2900.50.91 and the Quantum of Solace PO is 42mm case model #2201.50.00

Can anybody post a pic of the XL on their wrist?

I had done this and I liked it. What I didn't like was the price of the strap ($350). So I ended up selling it. Is there a good budget alternative? Or if someone is selling one I'd be interested.

And here's my QoS PO on the black rubber strap. It looks and feels great.

I have a 7 1/2 wrist and the watch fits nicely. Definitely a different feel between the two versions. DM me on Instagram and I can help you out.

I have a very small wrist, but the PO doesn't look to big.
The bezel is slightly smaller than the case so it gives the impression that the watch is smaller.

I have the PO 42mm. Fits fine on my small wrist. Definitely couldn't take the 45mm, no way.

I have bother them CR, Quantum and Skyfall and like the CR too but with the size do feel for me it’s nicer on the rubber strap. Trying to find a titanium 42mm and do a bezel insert and dial change.

Now that would be modding or customising Omega don’t like people doing that to their watches it spoils the brand :D

I was told that when modders have sent their watches off for service at Omega they are returned in original state non modded form - I would love to see that on my extremely modded PO!

When I took it in to Omega they tried to convince me I should get it serviced with them or it would no longer be covered by warranty - my response who cares about warranty that ran out years ago, i created the watch you refused too.

I have the watch I want and a good team who look after it (after all it’s now my watch not yours Omega)

Good luck n the hunt for the Ti!

    Cheers :007)

Quite a few of us have done that. But it does devalue both watches and it’s still not quite screen accurate as the case on the screen used watch is not as high due to the custom back. Swings and roundabouts.

Is the screen accurate rubber strap just a standard buckle or a a folding clasp?

I’m not sure Omega does folding clasps/deployant clasps on CR style rubber straps?? The CR strap is the standard buckle.
