Ian Fleming's mother was sister to Mr. Lee's stepfather, Harcourt (Ingle) Rose, thus making them cousins through marriage.

Lee was a good villain in a mediocre Bond Film, i thought he came across exactly as Lee envisaged it, a cultivated unscrupulous Anti-Bond, well executed.

Talk existed about Lee playing the first villian, Doctor No. It would have been interesting to see him play this role.

I liked Lee as the man with the golden gun. In fact, I like the locations, Moore's performance, Maud Addams, Lt Hipp and the dialogue in many parts. I just widh the script itself had been stronger.

Lee also served in intelligence during the war, like his cousin.
