  A sequence was cut from the final version of FRWL involving Kerim and the moustached Bulgar, in which Kerim prevents the agent from following Bond and Tania. This scene took place AFTER Grant had killed the Bulgar in St Sophia, therefore it had to be jettisoned (much to the chagrin of Pedro Armendariz).
  Bond and Tania's journey on the ferry, adjacent to the above scene, includes the Golden Horn as a location. It would therefore seem likely that the cue heard on the album was intended for use during the cut scene and while the sequence ended up on the cutting room floor, the music remained on the album.

  It is in the film, isn't it? Only for about 20 secs or something though. Some time around the arrival in Instanbul when Bond gets off the boat or something...

  No, it's not in the film. It's on teh soundtrack to represent the Eastern sound, just like the other album only composition of similar nature, Leila's Dance.
