Casino Royale on a budget DVD

Casino Royale released today on DVD, due to supermarket price wars you can buy this 2 disc DVD set for £7 in Asda (Walmart) and £8.99 in Sainsburys. I did not pre order mine as I was in no rush to pay over the odds when the price usually drops 3 months into a release, thanks to the trolley fillers I now have it 3 months early and for 7 quid, bargain!!

As one of last year's top ten UK box office hits, the recommended retail price for the Casino Royale DVD is a whopping £22.99.

It will be available in ASDA stores across the UK and Northern Ireland for £7, saving customers millions of pounds.

ASDA has ordered in hundreds of thousands of copies of the DVD to cope with customer demand and is expecting it to fly off the shelves when stores open their doors tomorrow morning.

ASDA's very own Bond, chief executive Andy Bond said: “With a price like this, we're definitely 'licensed to thrill' our customers.

“We also want to explode the myth that online retailers give people the best deal when it comes to music, games and video - it's simply not the case.

"Our customers can rest assured we'll always give them the best value in town.”

In a further boost to its music, games and video credentials, 10,000 PlayStation 3 games consoles will go on sale in ASDA's stores on Friday (23rd March) to coincide with the UK launch.
This is the first time the supermarket has secured PlayStation consoles at launch. ASDA has also become the first supermarket to give customers the chance to place a pre-order to guarantee they won't be disappointed when PS3 goes on sale at the end of the week.

    Notes for Editors
The £7 Casino Royale DVD is the latest product to be featured as part of ASDA's 'Why pay more' campaign which highlights products where the supermarket is delivering unbeatable value on popular, everyday products for its 13 million customers. Asda are really pushing bargain prices. Encouraging competition is a great thing. But teh profit they make must be so small. Got mine from HMV. £10.95 when you spent £30 came with the bond on set booklet. If they want to stop DVD piracy that's the sort of prices everyone should be selling DVD's at.
