He could be quite mopey in the books but he was also fairly chirpy on occasions (the meetings with Felix).

I read that Mary Byrne, One of the x-Factor rejects has let it be know she want's to sing a Bond song, or rather SHOUT out a Bond song. ajb007/lol

Re: QoS Title Song

The riff is great, even if it is clearly an unimaginative ripoff of the riff from You Know My Name.

Other than that, however, there's nothing good about it. One of the worst themes in the series' history.

It's actually one of my favourites of the entire series.

Sorry sir miles the bad news is there is no known cure.....

The good news is you'll never hear it again unless you watch the film....

Chris cornell on the other hand, did a great job with Arnold and it's one of my all time favs.

It terrible. Now I know what scraping the bottom of a Barrell sounds like. I had really hoped for a Goldfrapp & David Arnold collaboration, but this was even worse than the lamentable effort for CR

I've been championing Goldfrapp for over 6 years now....I don't think they'll get the chance now though...which would be a shame.

That's not really going to happen as Eon will want to have certain copyrights to the songs and when people send in their songs they just won't listen to them...

I don't mind the song you linked too...for me, it pales by comparison to the song actually chosen...but I know I'm in the minority for thinking that ajb007/crap

Re: QoS Title Song

I honestly think it blended badly too. It is really rough and melody can't break out of all the sounds that the slam out at once. It could have been worked beautifully for Keys, but I can't see Jack White doing it. I think it is the worst. I like the Madonna one, but because of how it is done in the titles.

Re: QoS Title Song

Am I allowed to swear here, 'cos QOS music track was utter trash ajb007/crap

Casino Royale's Chris Cornell was a breath of fresh air from some of the rubbish that went before it (save Cheryl Crow and Garbage), and 'You know my name' was a catchy bit of sound and I did enjoy it.

fast forward two years and the pairing of Keys and the other person (I  hate it so much I can't quite remember who sung it), was a murder to my ears, I think Bond today caters for the younger generation so they naturally thought it would be a good idea to go ahead with some teenage x-factor type wail.   It wasn't, but it's no good crying over spilt milk.

They desperately need to improve for the next release, no talentless kids who can't sing, get some proven voice that is world recognized and do it properly this time.   I'd even have Duran Duran or A-HA back if that's what it takes.

You can't remember Jack White ? ajb007/insane Seriously ?

Jack White could NEVER be described as "teenage x-factor type wail...with that line alone your whole argument falls flat...if you don't like the song - fine....but that come up with a line like that ajb007/confused

You also mention the two most boring Bond songs since the Brosnan era...and THAT takes some doing ajb007/lol

Re: QoS Title Song

it was so goddamn awful I couldn't remember who it was really, or maybe I just turn the sound off when the credits come on or fast forward or leave the room etc

when was the last time there was a decent Bond tune, apart from Casino Royale?

Garbage's The World Is Not Enough is a good enough answer and if not that then Sheryl Crow takes the honors

I really fear they will again come up with some manufactured plastic faced crap for Number 23, simply because the producers want Bond to be 'modern' or 'give the audience of today what they feel is most appropriate and sod everyone else who doesn't like it'

Point being, Wings' Live and Let Die and Nancy Sinatra's You Only Live Twice were good tunes but they would have no place in todays climate and back then there was no well, garbage efforts like today, things have to set in with the time of the moment, even so, QOS as a whole was so disappointing to most people that some may never even turn up for the next release so what music they come up with may very well in the end be immaterial

Well...you could have read about the title artist...or remembered his name to avoid more of his work...but I think you are over-dramatising for effect ajb007/wink

Really ? You serious ? Both are ok but VERY bland...I expected so much more from Garbage....and Sheryl Crow's song is beaten hands down by kd lang and Surrender...

Like they did for CR you mean ? ajb007/wink And Jack White can hardly be described as "manufactured plastic crap"...

Again, not sure I agree with you...garbage efforts like CR you mean ? ajb007/wink

Re: QoS Title Song

I think we'll agree to disagree

All I know is that while Casino Royale had a catchy, pleasing tune (guy from Soundgarden as main vocals so some good sounds could of been expected)

But every time, the credits of QOS come on, I turn the sound off, I just didn't like what they had put together, and what I meant was at the end of the day people are not necessarily going to be discouraged from seeing a Bond movie merely due to what credits track they see fit to include, people have paid their $8 or whatever and aren't going to be leaving the theater so soon after the start, music or otherwise.

They normally wait until about halfway through or two thirds as a number did when we went to see the latest release (2008 QOS)

I didn't see anyone leave either.

In fact, the first time I saw it on opening night the cinema was packed and everyone seemed to really enjoy it – myself included...I left feeling very happy with the film...it was only on repeated viewings, with a much less busy and excited cinema that I started to not enjoy the film as much.

Re: QoS Title Song

I rarely ever see anyone leave a movie that they have paid to see and have already sat through most of the story on. As naturally curious humans, most of us aren't going to pay for a beginning and walk out on the ending unless the film is so horrid.

No one left the theatre when I saw it, and furthermore it was well received based on people's comments as we exited.

And the song certainly has nothing to do with people walking out on a movie...
