Walther WA2000 Sniper Rifle

Does anyone know where I can get hold of this rifle in airsoft?
Its the sniper rifle that Dalton uses in "The living daylights".

Yep, MG is right, plus if you want the same scope model etc. as seen in the movie, you can add 1k more :007)

and btw the original scope (pvs4) is valuable than the pea shooter :D

Jeff, that's £2k for the Geneth, the ARES retails for just over $500, looks just as good with all wood furniture and a dummy mag with three rounds.

    damn tep, yeah........

thing is though mate, having the blueprints don't mean **** when ya can't make it.

ya see under UK law, making it would be 'manufacture of a replica imitation firearm'. (5 year sentence)

theres no excuse for calling it a museum piece, a collectors item or any kind of loophole you can use, the only way round it that i can think of is being a member of a uk skirmishing club and registering on the uk database of players.

and too be honest, i can't be arsed to do all that.

Yeah, sorry totally forgot that law issue - replicating one wouldn't be legal here either. However i could buy the Ares version and that scope plus laser unit, but i don't see there's no sense making one - it would be too expensive.

UK is almost as bad as DK… you probably need a weapons permit…
  • minigeffminigeff EnglandPosts: 7,884MI6 Agent
    yeah

i did think about doing a run of the nv scopes, but tbh, not many people have a wa2000 to display it on.

it all boils down to alot of money, time and effort for little or no benefit.

and when ya think about it, $500 for an ares version?

i got my first gun for £55, and it came with a scope! :o

I know Kev did do some SA scopes/attachments when the Geneth first came out. Of course I've had all my airsofts since prior to the VCRA came into legislation. {[]

Hi every one and happy 00 x-mass to you all,
it is nice to see my name pop up from time to time, and yes over the years i was the sole uk importer for the spring genneth va 2000 and the later gas diver bottle power wa 2000 , the va 2000 was before they got the licence to make the walther,
the later wa 2000 was soon banned as it had a fire power of over 2000 fps with a .25 gram bb,
    anyhow bla bla bla,
    fact 1 i have 1
fact 2 only 2 other people in the uk have an exact dalton - wa 2000 q-branch
fact 3 ares version is so cool for the ££££ because the genneth was very very expencive as it had original walther wood and body parts,
ps sorry about the silly walther torch !!!!

Thankyou texas but minigeff is correct,
this is a photo of my first wa fitted with a home made spotting scope and a rather naff telescope,
but as i said my 2 customers had the correct gen 1 nv scopes fitted and they are exact,
but again the spotting scope/ laser unit had to be made as close as i could get it to the film and the parts then added to this unit that i found i the ussr....

    d242.jpg

however thankyou for pointing this out!

kev, i was under the impression the wa's scope in TLD is a gen 2, the laser is assumed to be a custom prop?

nice gear in them pics, but they aint what was used in the film. maybe i'm wrong, but it'd be good to actually confirm what the scope and that 'laser unit' are.

Apart from the riffle that looks great, I must say that the scene from TLD where you see the riffle is so excellent… the Dalton acting in the scenes with Saunders is TOP… “why me ?” “he is under the impression….” – love the acting…
