Topic: Facts on Bond ( Might not be true )

Finally a place for all those little known or false facts on all things Bond.

Both Connery and Moore were up for the Part of Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing.
Only when Patrick Swayze  Challanged them to a Dance off, did they Back down.

In 1978 Moore threatened to leave the series if his Belief in UFOs was not shown
on screen hence Moonraker being rushed after TSWLM.

Dalton was a Big fan of Bare knuckle fighting and had several trained Monkeys
fight for his entertainmant.

If you rearange the letters fron TMWTGG it spells out, Satan is a nice bloke.

Following a heated argument D Craig threw a Tank of Oil over Gemma Arterton, as the
film was behind schedule it was worked in to the plot.

The invisible car often broke down and wouldn't work. Leaving the actors to have to
pretend it was there.

DAD, was nominater for Best film in 2002.

During the filming of OP, Moore dressed as a clown did indeed perform in a local Circus
showing his skill at juggling, magic tricks and Pie throwing. Sadly his fear of sawdust
stopped him from taking the gig fulltime.

The code  running through the Fleming novels tells of all major Human events for
the 20th Century and the start of the 21st.

You left one out - Sean Connery is actually Japanese and he was made up to look Caucasian in all of his films except for a brief sequence in You Only Live Twice.

From Sky Movies.

BOND: 20 Weird and Wonderful Facts

• Writer Ian Fleming named James Bond, after an American ornithologist, a Caribbean bird expert who wrote the definitive field guide book Birds of the West Indies.

•As a struggling actor with the National Youth Theatre, Daniel Craig worked in the restaurant kitchens and as a waiter.

•Goldeneye is the nickname of Fleming's beachfront house in Jamaica where he wrote the Bond novels and short stories between 1952 and 1964.

•Former Bond Timothy Dalton is a keen fisherman who also supports Derby County Football Club.

All scenes showing Roger Moore running in his seven Bond movies were performed by doubles, since the actor felt he looked awkward.  ( This was news to me,  ajb007/lol  )

•Daniel Craig is the first actor to play James Bond who is younger than the series itself.

•In Goldfinger, Pussy Galore's Flying Circus was supposedly comprised solely of women but was actually made up of men wearing blonde wigs.

•The character of Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) in Casino Royale was based by Ian Fleming on the World War II resistance fighter Christine Granville.
•From Russia With Love was chosen as the second Bond film after President John F Kennedy listed the book among his top ten favourite novels of all time.

•In Casino Royale, director Martin Campbell has a cameo as the truck driver murdered by a terrorist at Miami Airport.

•Desmond Llewelyn’s seventeen performances as Q remains the most times a single actor has played the same role in major motion picture history.

•The acronym of Blofeld’s villainous organisation SPECTRE stands for SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, Extortion.

• Fleming originally conceived 007 as “an anonymous, blunt instrument wielded by a government department.”

•One-time-only Bond actor George Lazenby was supposed to have dinner with martial arts star Bruce Lee on the night that he died.

•Fleming emphasised Bond's Scottish heritage in admiration of Sean Connery's cinematic portrayal from Dr No onwards.

•Thunderball was originally going to be the first James Bond movie, but legal wrangles with its co-author led to Dr No being chosen instead.

•For Goldfinger, a 24-hour guard was placed on the Fort Knox set at Pinewood Studios so that pilferers would not steal the gold bar props.

•Several changes had to be made to the script of GoldenEye during production because the plot was virtually identical to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s True Lies.
•Roger Moore suffers from hoplophobia, fear of firearms which meant countless 007 setpieces had to be re-shot.

Re: Facts on Bond ( Might not be true )

I still shake my head that some 'experts' still contest that James Bond was named after the ornithologist even though Fleming himself stated so in an interview...and best of all, there's a letter written by Fleming to James Bond admitting he pinched his name!

Re: Facts on Bond ( Might not be true )

Timothy Dalton was paid 50 million dollars by Pierce Brosnan to decline doing Goldeneye because Brosnan wanted a shot at being Bond.

Re: Facts on Bond ( Might not be true )

Fact:

Cubby Broccoli was a great practical joker and made sure that the first Bond films were based on Fleming novels whose heroines' names Connery would struggle with:

Pushy Galore, Kishy Shuzuki, Jill Mashtershon, Tiffany Cashe etc.

Re: Facts on Bond ( Might not be true )

Facts about Bond 24:

In Pett's Bottom (2016), Bond receives a distress call from his Aunt Charmian (whimsically played by the irrepressible Dame Maggie Smith) and must return to his teenage home town to face shadowy figures from his Aunt's past: Silva Top (the village milkman) aided by his two henchmen, Jaws (the village dentist) and Nick-Nack (the charity shop worker).

Armed only with a Rayleigh Chopper (supplied by Q branch after the demise of his DB5) and his father's old catapult, can Bond save his Aunt and avoid the destruction of his hometown, like so many other Home Counties, from charity shops and Starbucks?

sits on his Golf Tees,  "What are these for " he asks. Bond replies " They're for
resting your Balls on before driving Off "
"Bloody hell " sais the hitchiker " These designers at Aston Martin really think about your comfort "
