Re: Favourite single track from all the soundtracks?

Great topic! It's hard to pick a single track among so many, but I'm glad a few people have mentioned Into Miami - I love it.

I'm currently co-hosting a James Bond podcast called Q-Branch and we discussed music in the last episode (#4). I (think) I mentioned Into Miami, in my 3 choices although I had a tough job whittling it down to 8.

If anyone is interested you can take a listen here:

The book entitled "The Music of James Bond" by Jon Burlingame is a really great read for fans of Bond movie music, as well as Bond fans in general. I highly recommend it.

"Felix Leiter, a brother from Langley."

Yes I've read bits of the book in a bookshop-one day I'll buy it !

I like all the John Barry music and have all the soundtracks.  OHMSS a favourite.

I was listening to the YOLT extended tracks and there is "James Bond in Japan" which is
a medley of several pieces of music running for over ten minutes.
The flute "burial at sea" music is marvellous.

Bleuville. -Moneypenny"We tried to think of a memorable phrase. I Love You.-Repeat please!"   007 -"Don't worry-I get it!"

I've just seen that one of the great Bond composers, David Arnold is giving a debut concert at the Royal Festival Hall on July the 6th. Going to feature music from Casino Royale, The World is Not Enough, Quantum of Solace, Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day.

Re: Favourite single track from all the soundtracks?

For me it would have to be OHMSS Ski Chase.

I do love the big orchestral pieces so OHMSS Journey to Blofeld's Hideaway and CR City of Lovers are among my real favourites.

As if choosing your favourite title song wasn't hard enough! Picking a definitive list is almost impossible ajb007/confused I hope for a return to some more elaborate pieces of music in Spectre as Skyfall was disappointing in this regard.

"Any of the opposition around..?"

Re: Favourite single track from all the soundtracks?

Impossible to choose just one, although the one that blew me away when I first heard it, was the instrumental Goldfinger that was on the 10th Anniversary album, which I believe was on the US OST but not the British:

Bill Conti's Bond has always been a guilty pleasure but this is my personal favorite track.

Conti wrote brilliant music, it just ruins the film. It's my favourite non-Barry Bond score as far as the music alone is concerned, though if Barry scored the film it would probably rank as my favourite Bond film. "Runaway" is my favourite from that score:

My favourite track overall from any Bond score is "The Sniper Was a Woman" from The Living Daylights. It starts off with something that recalls some of Barry's most famous earlier pieces for Bond, but then it goes into something else that makes the piece more developed than others.

I'll have to give credit to "Dawn Raid on Fort Knox" for getting me into Bond scores.

Re: Favourite single track from all the soundtracks?

I've had the Bond soundtracks on shuffle all day here at work, and I can't decide on a favorite. The closest I can come is between "Welcome to Cuba" and "Bond Meets Bambi And Thumper."

67

Re: Favourite single track from all the soundtracks?

Bobsleigh Chase from OHMSS.

Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

" I don't listen to hip hop!"

Re: Favourite single track from all the soundtracks?

Tough to choose between "Girl Trouble" in FRWL and "The Palace Fight" from Octopussy
