Please try this, it might work. Take both the leads from the battery them leave them off for at least half an hour. This will cause all the power to go from the electronics control unit. When you connect the battery the unit will have to reset. The airbag light may not come back on at all after that if it is just a small fault. My friend did this and it worked (for a few weeks!) The garage can also reset the light for you by cancelling the fault. This should not cost more than ten pounds (but it might come up again later).

Re: The Silencer and bra strap !

It's a remarkably different test in NI from the one over here, some say it's more lenient and others say its more stringent.
Airbag light really needs diagnosing, simply a case of plugging the car in and reading the fault, if it's a 2 door car with sliding seats to get in the back, the wiring under a seat is the prime suspect.

It was either that.....or the priesthood

Happens a lot, I've had it on my GT, simply applied some contact spray to the plug and it cured it.

You can even download a diagnostic app on your phone and buy a Bluetooth plug for the car, I have this along with a full diagnostic programme on a laptop.

Sounds like the system mainland UK has for commercial vehicles, they have to go to a government run place, infact the man that tests my cars is a senior examiner in one such place,
He has some horror stories about what the hgv owners try and get up to!

Re: The Silencer and bra strap !

Thank you, much appreciated!

Yes, it was fun. Tomorrow we're playing at a festival which is always good news. Bigger audience, better pay, and more chance of selling CDs.

Edit- David Gilmour, eh? Can't beat a bit of Floyd.

Re: The Silencer and bra strap !

Good luck playing at the festival, Barbel  ajb007/martini  how do you handle all the groupies?
