Wai Lin is a completely forgettable Bond girl? Does she own a personality? Possibly one of the worst...

Lots of Bond girls don't really have a personality; I just like that she looks like a genuinely competent fighter.

Michelle Yeoh is a very beautiful woman and a talented martial artist.  ajb007/martini
I love her and her character Wai Lin.

I found Stamper a boring henchman; I think with a more comic villain they could have had a more memorable and scary henchman to compensate.

I liked Stamper, he's the only henchman who ever tried to protect his boss.  ajb007/wink
When Bond throws a knife at Carver, Stamper  throws himself across him to
take the knife for him.  ajb007/biggrin   most henchmen just fixate on killing Bond. I also
Loved Bonds use of the knife at the end, escaping from an inescapable situation.

personally I think that if all Brosnan villains stayed the same and they just went crazy with Stamper it would be an odd standout

Re: Pros and Cons: Tomorrow Never Dies

Saw this a 3rd time yesterday.  Pretty much have the same opinion on my second viewing.

It's a fun action film.  A lot of it is same Bond formula crap.  A lot of it is also really entertaining.  It has an interesting political concept and has a message to send, but doesn't do it well.  It's like a 6/10 to me.  The positive side of average.

That averages out to 2 times a year, so it's not that crazy, I guess...
However, TND averages out to just over 2 per year, sounds right.

You have no idea.

Seriously!

Re: Pros and Cons: Tomorrow Never Dies

I think I topped 100x in the 80s, once Betamax and then VHS made it available for unlimited viewing. I know I saw it 20x in the cinema.

73

Re: Pros and Cons: Tomorrow Never Dies

Barbel, you are our lord and savior.

I'm young though.  No doubt by the time I'm 50, I probably would have seen most of the films like 40 times each too.

Holy crap! I topped out with Enter The Dragon & Star Wars in cinema at about 50 each, no other films have come close, but once VHS & CED came into play, DAF got a SERIOUS workout... ajb007/shifty
