I'm waiting to go at 930 am tomorrow. My mother wanted to see it as well
...Saw it. IMAX cinema was 30 miles away, and I'm currently riding home, gathering my thoughts.
I'm seeing it again tomorrow afternoon, this time on a standard screen. Will probably not post a full review until I've seen it again...and can compose on something more practical than an iPhone with these sausage fingers
One thing: SEE THIS FILM. If you're a Bond fan, don't let dodgy reviews put you off seeing it projected. No critic---or friend's opinion---should deny you such a grand time

Another bizarro review in today's Philadelphia Daily News. Only 2 stars (this is a critic who gave QOS 3 stars). Basically, the review says nothing happens in the film and it's way too long and for all intents and purposes, it's too "Bond". Again, just completely goes against the the vast majority of posters on AJB (who can be the harshest of Bond critics) who have seen the film and the British critics. Can't wait to see this. It seems EON's greatest sin with US critics has been to make a Bond film that looks, feels and plays like a Bond film.
I saw the movie last night, it was very good, but not as good as Casino Royale. I have to see it again, but I would probably rate it right behind SkyFall, which is a compliment. It is way better than Quantum of Solace. I think everyone will enjoy this movie.
I found the first half of the movie extremely entertaining, but the back end lagged. Craig was fantastic. I thought Naomi was again very good, she and Craig have definite chemistry. At lot of critics are praising Ben's performance, he is good, but have no doubt, it is the DC show.
I did not feel that chemistry with Lea Seydoux, but she looked great.
Evil Bond
I think some critics are like trolls. They give their opinion as if it's
Documented fact. and given some of the big mistakes, I've read
in some reviews. I don't even think many reviewers watch the whole
film.

Yep, a Bond film that's to "bond". Very logical argument
Saw it for second time
Even better then the first
Seeing it tonight!
2nd viewing in 35 minutes...and I'm excited as I was for the first one, as I'm taking my oldest son, Ian (he'll be 20 in three days)...who knows nothing about the film except for a couple of trailers I've shown him in the last couple of months He is untainted by any spoilers, and I'm very much looking forward to his reaction.

The general consensus is that it's better the second time round...and as I'm of the opinion it's pretty darn good first time, it's going to be even more a treat next time. Can't wait.

It was an entertaining movie and I got my $10 worth at the theater, but it's the weakest of the Craig films, IMO. This is what happens, as I said, when you have a $300 millon dollar budget and bad writers. The first two acts build up a good premise, but the third act played it very safe and failed to give a meaningful resolution. The entire cast was full of great acting, but all of them felt under-utilized. It has everything you'd expect from a 007 movie, but for the most part, it doesn't do anything amazing either.
6/10

$10? Apart from Tuesdays and matinees, I don't know anywhere cheaper than $13 now. That's what I'm paying for my second viewing.
Has its moments, but nowhere as good as CR or even QOS (which in my view is hugely underrated and misunderstood). Some sequences are simply gorgeous; others feel like the writers/director were going through the motions. Won't go into details to avoid spoilers.
it certainly is way better than QoS!
it certainly is way better than QoS!
I don't agree. If you come from the camp that QoS is a bad movie, then you'll probably like Spectre more. If you believe that QoS is merely underutilized, then that applies to Spectre too.
QOS, in my opinion isn't a Bad movie. It is Flawed, but not bad.
OK...looks like I'm on for an IMAX showing today. Then we will have the only opinion that counts.....my opinion Of course as my wife says: "Opinions are like a..holes, everybody's got one and you are definately one"
I am going back to see it 2nd viewing in IMAX in a few days. Hopefully I will like it more on the 2nd viewing
Just got back from a second viewing - enjoyed it more second time - as plenty have said here...cinema was fairly full too
Watched in IMAX with AJBs Mr Eddy.
Pretty impressive especially the audio, the cinema was booming each time Hinx smashed Bond up on the train against the walls, doors, tables etc! Then of course the big explosion at the end with HQ falling!!!!
Booked my tickets for tomorrow night in IMAX. Can't wait to go see it
SP flat out ROCKS!!!!
Just got back from seeing SPECTRE at the IMAX. Enjoyed my first viewing of the film, will see it again most likely with a friend who is also a Bond fan on Tue or Wed. First impressions: definately a love letter to the series and the loyal fans. A better entry than QOS (which I don't believe is a bad Bond film, just flawed). It's classic Bond in many ways despite the sometimes clunky melding of the classic formula with the grit and backstory of the Mendes/Logan/Craig collaberation. Is it sometimes a big, overblown, operatic mess?.......yes, but it's a highly entertaining, beautifully crafted mess, which is what epic Bond films tend to be and why we keep coming back for more. IMO, many of the US critics have been rediculously harsh in their reviews, some to a mean spirited troll-like level, some now stooping to the level of referencing the Sony hack and judging the film by its alleged budget and disrespecting and dismissing the fans of the series like we are tasteless dolts ie "this film is bad, but the dopey fans will go see it anyway". The only thing that counts is I had a great time today watching a new Bond film ........I'm just too stupid to know any better.
