Fun article.  I can attest to the idea of building suspense over the course of a week...it's especially fun if you can come up with some clever clues as to where you're taking her or what you're going to do.  Give her a clue each day and get her thinking.

A clue each day is a great idea! Building the suspense is a lot of fun!  ajb007/martini

This is more of a fun post: How to plan a Bond style romantic evening. I think Bobby from Matched Perfectly is a member on here, but I'm not sure what his username is! Anyway, he and his wife were the guest writers for this one!

I'm working on another big 4 Ways to Wear It post for this weekend!

And, in other news, our little thread here has now passed 600,000 views. Just noticed that this morning ...

Cheers!

Bobby, you and Leah are fantastic...loved the article!

BTW, has anyone here found a good budget alternative for the tie bar seen in this picture?

I listed two in the July Best Budget Finds post (1 stainless steel and 1 silver). They have more of a matte/brushed finish and the ends are slightly more squared off.

https://www.iconicalternatives.com/2019 … inds-july/

This is one for $75

I know some people have been thinking it's a Douglas Pell tie slide, but to me the end of that one looks too rounded compared to what we see in the set photos. That's why I went with the more squared off versions

Douglas Pell

Bond's

The Pell one is only around $60, so if folks like that one it won't kill the wallet.

Tie Bar also has a couple of sterling silver options with the rounded end for $15 to $25

I'm still looking for one with the right finish and end shape.

Great! The Bond Under $50 post this month focuses on cufflinks, tie clips, money clips. I'll include that one with credit to you for the find.  ajb007/cheers

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

I think these work as a budget alternative to the Barton Perreira 'Joe' sunglasses in terms of shape.

Persol PO3019S - Bond brand too.

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

DB6: I love Persol and have 4 pairs myself. So if you like them I'd say go for it. But if you're asking if they come close to the Joes, I think that silver arrow hinge is so distinctively a Persol "thing" that everyone is going to know exactly what they are. If you want a pair that comes closer to the looks of the Perreiras, maybe look at Ray Ban, since they have less noticeable branding. Just my 2 cents!

New post!

4 Ways to wear a grey (or gray) t-shirt!

This post is also a sort of "fall preview" so you can see some of the things I'll be searching for in the coming months.

Cheers all!

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Anyone looking to update their QoS wardrobe - ASOS currently has the Selected Homme tapered jeans in ecru twill (a great alternative to the Levi's 306 Staprest) on sale at £38.50, good range of sizes available (except mine  ajb007/rolleyes )

Link here: https://www.asos.com/selected-homme/sel … d/11343684 (ignore the fact it may come up as being in in UAE - I'm travelling with work again)

John: Re the Persols - I was only referring to the overall 'look' really as I agree, Persol's are clearly Persol's!
