Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource
I just tried the H&M Textured Wool Jacket alternative to the Morocco Bruno Cucinelli. It's a nice jacket for the price but runs VERY small. I'm not sure if I'd go up from my usual 42 to a 44 or maybe even a 46.

Thanks for the insights! I'll update that post with your observations.
A few new options added to the TF Black Cardigan post:

canoe2,
I received the Hugo Boss "pizzoli" navy jacket and would highly recommend it as a quality alternative to the TF Solden blouson. At 250 EUR it's not really "budget" but the price/quality rate is excellent. I'm assuming you're already looking at this one.
At the request of 001, I looked for alternatives for the Casino Royale PTS black cardigan: https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … -cardigan/
I'd like to add to the praise for canoe2's work on this project. Really a fantastic resource!
Ben: Thanks, appreciate it and glad it's useful!
Writingsonthewall: I have thought about doing alternatives for the Solden Jacket, but honestly it seems like the best options have all been discovered/shared and/or are incredibly difficult to find now. The BR shared by drum007, the Hugo Boss you got, the Moncler and the Supernatural. The only one I could add that I hadn't seen mentioned was that ultrabudget one from Macy's that I mentioned on page 3:

Long story short, I'm not sure a Solden Jacket post would still be useful. Maybe I'm wrong?
In other news, I added a great budget option for the Islay boot: 100% leather and on sale for $45.00 right now! Here's the link to the post: https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … es-islays/
And here's the link to the boots: http://www.jcpenney.com/stafford-deacon … G7eiu0zYAA
I tried on those JcPenney boots in the store today. The color is a lot lighter in person but the quality wasn't terrible. I may give these a go with the shoe dye! Thanks for the info.

Try this trick with shoe polish. I saw it first on Dappered.

Note to self: read the entire post before suggesting something drum007 has already stated he's seen ....
Keeping with the Stafford shoe theme, these could be a nice contender for the C&J Norwich (Mexico opening sequence, London and the Morocco Oberhauser lair scene). Maybe get these AND the Deacon boots for under $100!

Hi, Love the site!
I don't like to piggyback on other people's threads, but I thought I might mention that I have a friend who is a saddler by trade and is making me a replica of the BC belt.
If anyone's interested, feel free to drop me a line.
Price will be roughly £50 (exl. shipping)
Cheers,
Nik
A truly stupendous attempt. I love the site and great recommendations. Lots of shopping in my future now.
I thought these Hilfiger chinos were a decent shout for budget Brunello;

TF Morocco shirt alternative at Express:
http://www.express.com/clothing/men/vto … cat1830014
I bought this shirt for 20$ on sale. The same sale is happening today. For 20$, it's a great option. It's slim fit, not banded at the waist, but tight on the waist to give that accentuated V look. The sleeves hit high on the bicep, maybe even too high for some, but I like it. It's not a knit weave. It's more like jersey, but not exactly that either. The collar is solid and similar to the Sunspel collar type, but no bottoms on the placket. Not nearly as deep of a V as the TF though. No logos, and color is just as seen in the picture.

Thanks to kadd for the theory!
Heads up for those interested in the Next Mr White alternative:
It will be in the sale at £29!
I have an account and get early preview / access to the sale, so those with an account may want to check it out, and others may want to open one.

I probably won't be posting much more until early January; have a great holidays!
Back to the land of the blue polo. An oldie but a goodie: CR Long Sleeve Venice Polo alternatives:
I grabbed this polo option from JCrew recently:
https://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/pol … /A6327.jsp
It's a decent match with the cuffs and color, but it's a classic pique. Nice thing is they have these in regular, slim, and tall. I grabbed the slim and it gives a nice SA fit.

Had to sneak one more in, but it's kind of a cheat. It's a Christmas wish list "best of the best" from all the posts.
https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … wish-list/
Happy holidays!
Love the Christmas wish list! I noticed you put the Topman jacket as the top choice for the Matchless alternative. I actually went with the Topman jacket and I have to say that it is very nice. The suede is very good, light weight, and buttery as hell. For 300$, you get what you pay for; and, I grabbed it on sale for 240! The color is not as light as the Matchless, but is nearly spot on and is lighter than the Kenton's in Sahara.. I'm going to have the collar altered just like you did. I will post a 2 part review of the jacket on this thread. The first part of the review will go over the pros and cons and have some pics before the collar alterations. Then I'll post a review and pics of the jacket after collar alterations.
Some things to note right off are that the jacket is super thin, probably thinner than the matchless. The sleeves are tight on the forearms and the jacket is slim fit in the shoulders and chest but not in the waist. I'm normally an XS, but I had to go with an XXS to get a good slim fit and the jacket still doesn't hug my stomach like the Matchless (from what I've seen from pics on here). It doesn't look bad closed, just not super slim fit. But, this is because it's not that type of jacket. The jacket is still very slim and fits me perfectly when open, and since I live in Florida, that's really all I will ever need. The quality of the jacket for the price cannot be understated though. It is very nice, very real suede. Not sure what kind of suede, as all it says is "leather". I'll go over more detail and provide pictures in my reviews. Probably take a few weeks or so.
