The Spy Who Loved Me promotional letter (Not the Domino letter)

Most Fleming collectors know about the (valuable) promotional letter from Domino that can be found in some paperback copies of Thunderball.

Some uncorrected proof copies of The Spy Who Loved me also had a promotional letter.

Given the tiny number of uncorrected proof copies that exist the letter is rare and many collectors do not know about it. Some more info here http://www.collecting-fleming.com/photos/more-info/the-spy-who-loved-me-cape-uncorrected-proof

Before the age of the internet this was always considered an urban myth so I am glad to see this. I was a bookseller for 40 years but never had one in my possession.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Fascinating stuff - thank you for sharing this. I've always enjoyed TSWLM and this I guess is also part of the 'experiment' which Fleming envisioned.
