Found it better recently. I watched CR the other night - Craig doesn't have the same way about him in Spectre. I think it's time for him to move on. Craig Wars?
I wonder will there now be a DanielCraigisBond.com set up
What I like about the Eva Green casting is that she comes across as a royal pain in the arse, stubborn, argumentative and no push over etc which is perfect for the script / film.
I find she can look very different in the film per scene. I find her most attractive on the train when she first sits down and in the bathroom with less slap on

I like your reply, thesecretagent. In Spectre, he could have phoned in his performance. Daniel Craig even flips the "f" birdie at photographers and fans, even while filming Spectre. It is time for him to go. Let's find an actor that can be classy and suave. A good-looking man that is delightful to watch as "Bond" and respectable.
I honestly, don't see what Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson still see in Daniel Craig. Why are they scared of hiring a new actor as James Bond?
It was not Daniel Craig that brought in the money for Spectre. It was the fans of 007 and the storyline that sounded interesting.
If you get Daniel Craig out of the James Bond role with a new white British actor, you will see James Bond 007 become popular again. So many good choices out there now for a new James Bond actor.
My opinions is Eva Green is gorgeous. She is one of my favorite Bond girls to date.

I really like your comment/observation. For me Green like Craig varies considerably oscillating between looking great in one scene (agree about the less slap) and not so great in another. I think that like with Daniel what we can say is that their look(s) are divisive, having their fair share of ardent admirers and detractors in the Bondiverse and beyond. Neither are particularly my cup of Darjeeling but I love CR nonetheless.

This is something I've noticed about Craig over the years. There's usually a few shots in each of his Bond films where he looks awful. One that springs to mind immediately is the balcony scene with Mathis from CR.
I think the worst he ever looked was inside the taxi from train station to hotel.
Looks like he is about to have a heart attack

The scene in QoS? Well he had just had six Vespers...
To be honest, I've had a few taxi journeys in which I thought I might have a heart attack.
No in casino royale. He is sweating like a pig and looks terrible lol

Some men just don't like to be driven.

No, some men don't like to be taken for a ride.

yeah that's another one, He looks really sweaty and bloated in that scene. Also in SF when he's helping Q decipher Silva's code the lighting there makes him look really pale, gaunt and old. Same when he's shooting the cups in Scotland.
For the sake of balance here are some scenes where he looks great: The scene where he wins the Aston, the rooftop in Spectre, getting off the plane in CR, most of QOS (the hair was better, less thug like and the clothes worked) on the motor bike in QOS) A couple of things just struck me, sunglasses really work on him, and I have nothing from Skyfall.
He did seem to have something opaque or translucent about the skin in the earlier films, like he didn't tan naturally, or it was fake tan. Didn't see that in the last film however.
There are quite a few gripes I have with SPECTRE now in hindsight after watching it again recently, and I think a big problem is Mendes vision for Bond.
To start with, I'm not keen on some of the dialogue, which is very un-Fleming -
“That all sounds marvellous,”......“That all sounds lovely.” This doesn't sound like Bond to me. It's not the kind of things he would say, particularly in the books. Very unimaginative. It doesn't bode well for Bond 25 if P&W are responsible for lines like these.
The film now feels like it drags in parts, the same way SF does now for me too. CR is of similar length, yet it flows at a decent pace. Campbell is far better at directing Bond than Mendes.
The car chase now feels more like an episode of Top Gear, showcasing a race between the shiny new Jaguar v the shiny new Aston Martin. This doesn't have a gritty realistic feel to it at all. The QoS Aston car chase is far superior, and Bourne do car chases much better too.
The ending feels tacked on, and as much as I like seeing London in a Bond film, too much of a good thing can leave you wanting less, and I definitely feel like this by the end of SP. Mendes has exhausted the London locations to death, making it look more like they had ran out of travelling budget to film abroad.
The personal touch. Bond's past. I really don't want to know or care about Bond's past, and I certainly don't want to see something that has nothing to do with Fleming - Bond and Blofeld being brothers. This is borderline unforgivable.
The Aston Martin DB5, and other homages to the past. Drop them. There is no need for them. Again, Mendes has flogged this to death.
Bond doesn't bleed anymore. In SF and SP, where is the sight of Bond bloodied and dirty, like we saw in CR (and to a lesser extent QoS)? Bond suffers traumatic torture in SP and is right as rain again 2 seconds later. The realism angle that Campbell so boldly started in CR is now completely vanished by the time Bond is freed from his Colonel Sun dentist chair in SP.
The one redeeming moment for me now in SP is the train fight scene with Hinx, which pretty much harks back to the harder edged Bond of CR and QoS. Unfortunately these scenes are few and far between in the Mendes films, preferring artistic light and pretentious angles over sheer blood and brutality.
Eva Green all the way
But on-topic: I think SPECTRE tried to focus on us Bondfans too hard. Blofeld, the parachute, the 009-song in the DB10, Moores humor and other nods. Although I really liked some of them like the cat or the scar, I think they did that those really well, I don't I like the 180 they took with Craig. Liked the darker movies and less - but faaaaarrrrrr better - humor for his character. 009s-song in the DB10 was one of the most stupid and annoying jokes in the series, a totally misplaced Moore joke that took me compleet out of the action.
I don't mind them going less darker then CR, but in SP they went too light, same for the nods to the old films. It reminds me of DAD sometimes and I don't think we want that. Nods to old films are really cool, if there subtile, suit the film and if it aren't too many.
'
Still like the movie though, I may sound hard here, but somewhere there's a part that does love it I think...

That's Austin fricken Powers and should have been left there.

That was James Bond doing an Austin Powers who was doing a James Bond But seriously, the cat worked very well, it was a short moment but a really good moment. And the scar made Oberhauser really look like a psychopathic Blofeld. I liked it!
I also liked the cat moment.
(Though I dislike the "brother" angle.)
