Where do you stand ideologically? Take this online test

I found this test on another forum I sometimes visit. You get a number of statements and you indicate how much you agree or disagree.
At the end the test says where you stand along two axis; Economic Left/Right and Social Libertarian/Authoritarian. Take the test if you like and post your results if you dare :)) ar want to. What we don't do in this thread is harass others for their results. Neither do we discuss party politics or current events. I don't think this test is perfect, but I did find it interesting.

Start running towards Canada! Only joking :D
I missed the 'neautral' option on some questions. I also found some questions to be a bit inaccurate or lacking vital information. I still found the test interesting, if only to evaluate your own opinions and values.

Thanks, I have done similar tests for Swiss national elections.

I always seem to end up about the same spot in such tests, here is my result in this test.

    full.jpg

I have to add, that I consider myself not that much on the left side, as I have many views that are seen as right-conservative. Especially when it comes to the army and immigration.

The axis point authoritarian/libertarian seems about right, I consider myself as social liberal but not economic liberal (neo-liberal).
In fact there is nothing that I despise more than neo-liberalism.
I believe that people have the right to live the way they want, love who they want and be in an institution like marriage or not. Too much state interference in daily life is not ideal imho, but big corporations and especially high finance sector should be much more regulated.

Overall though I am quite unpolitical. As a Swiss I feel obligated to use my right to vote and I vote every time which is several times every year as we have referendums and initiatives, quite a lot of them actually.
In Swiss national elections I vote for the most traditional of middle parties as they come closest to what I believe is good for us. Switzerland is lucky to have a multi party system and our heads of government are from four different parties, conservatives, liberal, middle and left socialist.
That works very well since decades. Our parliament is about 50/50 left block, right block with still strong enough middle parties that see to it that government is about working together and not against each other.

Imho, Switzerland has one of the best political systems in the world.

It can't be a coincidence that the Swiss and the Norwegian are practically on the same spot in that chart :))

I would have liked a few questions about prison sentences, the military, small business etc. Sometimes I got the sense the test was aimed most at an American audience. I still found the test informative.

I got that feeling as well. As a voter I'm registered as an Independent because I'm more interested in issues rather than if 'my team' wins. That test also didn't ask whether you should be able to own weapons which barring insanity or criminal history I believe you should. That alone would have pushed me a lot closer to the middle.

Yes if there had been questions about the army or weapons I would certainly have been pushed towards the middle more as well.

But overall the test was fine and quite a few questions about this and that.

I think the question about religion and morals is a very American one. I think very few Europeans would think that only religious people have morals/ethics, but I have heard it's not an unusual view "over there".

Thinking back most of the questions about economics were about big, International companies or if the rich should be taxed more. The option were positive or negative, with no neutral option. If there had been questions about tax for smaller starting businesses and the middle class, international free trade and the balanse between private and state ownership I suspect some of us would end up closer to the centre on the economics axis.

I'm finding it remarkable how everyone is left of centre and in the green zone, I'm also closest to Number24 so far, which considering we disagree about everything and he dislikes me is also quite remarkable!!

It is remarkable. Should we call back the hit men?
What do you mean by left of centre and in the green zone? Do you mean people who are left of centre economically belong above the centre on the authoritarian/libertanian axis. I don't get it....

I would have loved for some neutrality in some answers. I mostly disagreed when I couldn't get a neutral position. But what do I know about automatic gear levers?
Why do I get the feeling that it was mostly intended for Muricans?
    Morals/Religion etc.
That said what people do in their bedroom is none of the governments concern.
Why so many questions about mostly multinational corporations?
    Basically the same as everyone.
Like Chris said, I'm a greenie weenie.
