Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

Lest art imitates life and the discussions on this thread, can we please desist the chat about Delevigne playing a part in B.25

Having sat through 2.5 hours of Valerian last week, I can honestly say she's got zero acting talent in my opinion and neither does she have presence, beyond a pair of overly bushy eyebrows which steal just about every scene she's in. And that was going into the cinema with an open mind, having not been convinced by her Enchantress portrayal in Suicide Squad, where she also underwhelmed.

I'm sure that BB & MGW won't be swayed by how many Instagram followers a potential actor has but will instead focus on their ability to bring truth and believability to the role.

All the little reveals really whet the appetitive, and I always eagerly await the Press Conference and the first Teaser Trailers being revealed too.

Fingers crossed for the return of David Arnold, whatever other news unfolds.

Yes, it will be better than constantly discussing re-packaging and re-issue of the Corgi DB5 (and I'm a model car collector!)...

Huge sense of 'Meh' re DC return. Not terrible news, but a real sense of anti climax. Was hoping for something new, but we'll alsomost inevitably get Adele again. Ho- hum at least we won't have Mendes. The positives for me are at least we now know. Also I suspect that DC knows how much an overblown dogs breakfast Spectre was and will be determined for a fitting  coda to  his tenure. Also could afford the opportunity to play Bond as at, or near the end of his career, less of an action man. Craig could do a great job of this approach which would suit his own older but no doubt as fit as a Butchers Dog interpretation.  Perhaps it won't be all bad, just a little disappointing.

Agree. No screen presence in Suicide Squad. Not right.

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

I hope Carla Delevigne isn't in Bond 25.

Yes. Considerably!

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

I'm not particularly bothered one way or the other. Craig's done okay. The films - certainly the last two - are at best gorgeous to look at but soulless affairs. It's never to do with the actor; every actor to play Bond has been fairly good. It's always to do with the screenplay and frankly, Casino Royale aside, the recent scripting has been very hit and miss. If it is hit and miss again, the result will be the same; gorgeous to look at, yet soulless. I'm not sure he or any actor is worth the reported $100 million. If the script is bad he can be paid a billion and the film will still be ropy.

On The Wright stuff....

I think it's far from certain we get Adele again. She wasn't in SPECTRE and I'm pretty sure she has said she won't make another Bond title song.

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

What I fear most, and it will probably be that way unfortunately, that after a unnecessary long four year gap, we'll get treated again with NOTHING for at least two years and in 2021 EON will kindly inform us that Craig yet returns again in 2023. Or that he won't return and the search begins for a new Bond which will take years until a new film is finished then, we are looking at least to 2025 in that scenario.

The future does not look bright.

Hopefully back to back filming is true and we get a 2019 and 2020 film

If that happens it will make up HUGELY for all the mistakes EON made since 2008. But somehow I doubt it, because that would require BB to think ahead...

That's my point. She didn't think as well back then...

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

He was bought. And will again for Bond 26 in 2023.

There will never be an "official" fee but the 100 million make sense.
Oh and Brosnan was too expensive in 2004 for EON  ajb007/lol  ajb007/lol

What does it matter? Craig himself said he does it only for the money.

Well yeah, I'm sure Connery was "bought" and Moore also when he wanted to give up the role.

DC has created a goldmine for EON so I wouldn't expect him to be on peanuts.   He is box office gold and Bond 25 will make crazy money also like Skyfall and SPECTRE

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

Why doesn't Downey Jnr attract such a criticism for his 200 million dollar fee for the avengers?  Most of what he does is cgi,  Dc has suffered for bond,  separated shoulder,  knee surgery,  long schedules I'm pretty sure he is not being paid 100 million I'm also sure eon wouldn't pay more than they wanted.

It was either that.....or the priesthood

Re: Craig is back: Discuss Bond 25 here

Because Avengers takes in 1.5 billion and is worth again that number in merchandise/home video market?

EON with one flop will be finished. So far the risks paid off. But that is not a guarantee for the next film.
