Lock, The Hatters still have the jigs for the original, around £700 last time I looked into it.

Does anyone know did Lock and Co. make Nick Nack's Bowler Hat from The Man With The Golden Gun?

    Hi,

I ask a question in this topics because it concerns him, does anyone know the size of the real hat used by the actor during the shooting of the film?

    Thanks

Didn't it pop up on Antiques Roadshow this week? That's why I thought this topic had surfaced! :)

Yes, here you go- skip to about 5 mins in:

No worries, it’s the brother of the man from Aston Martin who worked on Goldfinger (apparently he used to drive Connery to his hotel in the DB5!) and he had both the JB 007 numberplate from the car and one of Oddjob’s hats (with steel removed). It’s in terrible condition but they still valued it at around £30,000.

Thanks ! That is very nice, lucky man !

But nothing on the size of the hat?

Afraid not, there were lots of shots of the underside but no labels visible.

There's a few details in this thread:
    https://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/38328/the-actual-prop-oddjob-hat/
but I'm afraid again nothing about the size. Perhaps if you could find the auction listing from 1998 it may have the information.

This is the EON Archive version, it is the one thrown by Odd Job and gets stuck between the bars at Fort Knox

Is that the one they bought at the '98 auction?

The one on Antiques Roadshow was quite funny: the Aston Martin guy took it home and the kids spent years throwing it like Oddjob! It's in a terrible state :)
