Topic: Eternal Echoes- Missing Barry Bond soundtrack?

I would highly recommend listening to his Eternal Echoes album which he did in 2001. Its mature Barry, not bombastic like a Thunderball or a Goldfinger ost. It does seriously sound like a lost Roger Bond film soundtrack. Somewhere in between Moonraker and the romantic tracks in Octopussy.
Slow days" and "Fred and Cyd" are the best at travelling you to another world. The latter has a bit of a DAF vibe while the former sounds like Sir Rog with a Lady.
Anyway, it's an album good outside of the world of Bond. I'm on study break right now and I'm listening to it while gardening. Nice to know that Barry can do a great non soundtrack album, I just wish he'd done some more.

ajb007/cheers  Agree completely. Have you heard "The Beyondness Of Things", his previous album? If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

I'm more familiar with The Beyondness of Things, but I have also listened to Eternal Echoes and it is a good listen, fairly typical late-Barry material if I remember correctly.

Some of the material on The Beyondness of Things was originally written for The Horse Whisperer if I'm not mistaken. As well as the title track I've always had a soft spot for 'Kissaby Close' because I'm a harmonica fan and it has a nice harmonica solo, slightly reminiscent of Midnight Cowboy.

The Beyondness of Things and Eternal Echoes are both wonderful albums, though both lack anything special from Barry. They're very typical late-Barry style with no surprises. But it's excellent easy-listening music, and the familiarity found here is comforting to listen to.

No. I have yet to listen to the beyondness of things but I notice it's also on Spotify.
