Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

Mine should arrive in days so hadn't the chance to read it. Dies it tells with which outfit goes?

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

Is it what he's wearing with the RGT jacket? He's wearing boots when we see the full body shot.

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

Doesn't allude to outfits.

I assume these are the Coniston dark brown rough out...but the images don't entirely sit with the C&J website images.

Yeah, I guess the toecap broguing is just hard to see in the mud! But it’s pretty subtle on the rough out anyway.

Would guess that these are the same Boots here and they appear to be black

I think these are actually the Moltons based on the uppers design and toe shape; has the look of chukkas and the more square toe of the Molton. You can also see no laces across the boot uppers like the Coniston boot.

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

And if they were the Molton in rough out suede he wears in Norway and the Coniston with the RGT jacket?

Cause if you look at this model in rough out the don't have the cap toe. And the models are both in brown as stated by Omega magazine

It's exactly what I was trying to show. The eyelets sit in a different way.

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

I think the roughout model is specifically made for the movie. The Molton seem discontinued on C&J site and are a personal favourite of Craig who wore the pretty same model in various occasions

Think that’s on the money. Although personally I’d probably prefer to wear the Coniston in the mud!

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

Now we've cleared it the Coniston must go with the RGT supply jacket in the garage scene

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

I'm having trouble understanding why they'd use two similar boots like this. If one were black and the other were brown, okay. If one was rough out suede and the other was calfskin, okay. But the difference seems to be that one is close to a chukka style and the other is close to a dress boot style? From a costuming point of view, it seems odd to me, even if it's what has happened.

Remember CJ provided a few other models for Spectre that were not seen.

These are defo molton, my C&J contact made no mention of coniston and they were not at the event they held.  RGT is not C&J shoes

47

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

Agree they are Molton. I went to C&J in London last Thursday and spoke to the sales assistant about Bond and he made no mention Conistons being used in the movie. We also discussed other movies that C&J provided boots for such as Kingsman which did use Coniston boots among others

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

The Molton is a nice boot, but is anyone looking at this overall outfit and saying, "That looks great! I am going to totally rock this out in the world." (Contrast it with the Skyfall Scotland outfit.) A $700 pair of boots can't save a loose henley and an undistinguished pair of charcoal-black cords. I like the NTTD clothes more than most but won't be wearing this combination.

49

Re: Crockett & Jones for NTTD

I'm with you, Cheverian. I really like this movie's wardrobe on the whole. But $700 for the boots, $400 for the cords, $160 for the Henley (he said with four in his closet), and then another $1200 for the duster? Nah, I'm good. It's a weird look for $2500.

But I don't have a pair of any brown suede Bond boots and I want a pair. Lot of options at this point: Ryder 3s, Drake's, Sanders, Molton, Kentons. The Molton's are probably most interesting to someone like me who doesn't have something like it in his closet.

Sorry but have to say I disagree with you on this one. I think this outfit is far more practical and wearable in real life than many of the other outfits in the movie. Most of the outfits to my eye have been a big disappointment. The N Peal woolly jumper looks a bit obvious and try hard.
