Just checked my belt (never wear) and checked my old emails

What happened with me was:

i ordered the 40 black and it was far too short

Was offered a 46 brown and it is way too long.
Weird I’m 36”  I’ve got black and brown in 40” and if anything a little long. Certainly the assistants in 2 stores said I should go for 38”. Still I like it. I did try 42” and that just ridiculously long

Guess I need a 42 for a 36 waist - madness lol

Weird I’m 36” . I’ve got black and brown in 40” probably too long but that’s how I like it and how I used to wear plaited belts 20 years ago. The shop assistants in 2 stores said I should go 38”. I tried the 42” and that was ridiculously too long.

Hello big guy  ajb007/smile

Hope this finds you well, P!

I can't help but think you must have considerable length on the tail end of the belt hanging down (LOL hope this makes sense!)

Best wishes from Scotland  ajb007/martini

Re: RM Williams Braided belt

All good thanks Gary.  Hope all is well with you.

Appears you went up two sizes?

This is what I did with my black 40 but I had no tail lol.

Starting to think I had a duff

I wear mine regularly and found that they do 'break in' and naturally stretch.

My first size was a 40" (three sizes up) and 'looked the part' i.e. DC style however, I quickly realised that it was too long and so went for the 38" and I have to say, in terms of getting the accurate look/style of DC, I'm pretty satisfied!

Can't see me shelling out that much for a belt again though!!  ajb007/amazed

Hmmmm... who am I kidding....  ajb007/lol

Re: RM Williams Braided belt

I do think best to try them on . In my state the belts weren’t stocked only available to order. Even when a RM store opened in a Tasmania limited stock. So I waited until I was going to Melbourne to visit flagship store. They’re not stocked as almost 4 x cost of other plaited belts.
As to variation I had the black custom made in 1.5” and it is a couple of cm longer than brown .

Re: RM Williams Braided belt

So, where did we land on the 1.5” shipping to US? Any leads?

As far as I can tell it cannot be shipped into the US but I'm still following up on a few things.
